An early Rugby Championship bet comes with Graham’s Guarantee

NOTE: There are still no points lines out for the Pumas and Sharks games so the best bet will be posted in the forum thread or the Pumas v Griquas betting preview  when the books finally wake up. I am taking a big strike for next week though.

BOUNCE BACK
It was nice to bounce straight back to winning ways last week as the Sharks absolutely hammered the Lions in Johannesburg.
I had quite a big double ending on the Sharks to lead by 6 points or more at the break and was in an Uber, travelling to poker in an area where there was virtually no signal. I had one of the bookmakers sites open and it showed the score 0-0 after 33 minutes, but fortunately as I walked into the Poker Pit and saw the TV the Sharks were dotting down their 3rd try of the half.

RUGBY CHAMPS BACK ON
We were hoping to have the Australia v New Zealand Test this weekend however in a dramatic week New Zealand pulled out of the Rugby Championships only to return although that game will now be taking place next weekend – breaking – the handicap for this game is out and I expect the +20.5 Australia at Sportingbet to disappear quickly (I grabbed some +21.5 as it opened) and I am calling an early best bet for next week

EARLY BET: 8 units Australia +20.5* at 17/20 at Sportingbet

*This bet comes with “Graham’s Guarantee” in that the handicap will be less than 20.5 by kick off. If it doesn’t I will film the next #TheHandicap topless

TEST MATCH ATMOSPHERE AT TAFEL LAGER PARK
With the NPC also off it is just the 3 Currie Cup matches to focus on and on Thursday night’s THE HANDICAP “Rugby Chat that Matters”, I was joined by  @HanrickSwart and Mike Good.  There was quite a bit of alignment from the panel at least from a betting perspective (they disagreed on a certain Mr Fouche at the Pumas) .

There were no points lines to talk about on the show but the bet we all fancied (given a quote in the 60’s) was unders on points and also tries. Currie Cup games have been high scoring but there is a lot on the line and this could be a tight affair with plenty of shots at goal.

I was ready to send this at noon yesterday but the bookmakers appear to be running scared and 4 hours before the game still no points line – I am giving up waiting and in the interests of the bet on the Aussie match not moving before I send the newsletter I am going to send this now and if you want to get my bet for today keep an eye on the forum thread or the Pumas v Griquas betting preview

  • The boys on the Goodforthegame Forum love the NRL and there will also be betting chat on the football, rugby and cycling this weekend.

No acca this week due to so few rugby games and I haven’t had a chance to look at the footy.

Have a good one
