arsenal1819@ZAPunter takes a look at the English Premier League match between Arsenal and Burnley which takes place on Saturday 17th August

ARSENAL VS BURNLEY, SATURDAY @ 13:30

In the Premier League early kick-off on Saturday, Arsenal host Burnley at the Emirates Stadium. Both teams opened their campaigns with victories last weekend and will be looking to continue their momentum in this class. Arsenal beat Newcastle United 1-0 at St James Park and Burnley beat Southampton 3-0 at Turf Moor.

ARSENAL:

Arsenal will be satisfied with their away win to start the season, but they know future performances should be better if they want to challenge the top 4. During the 2018/2019 season a late collapse in form saw them miss out on Champions League football by 1 point. However the Gunners will take some positives from last season, winning 10 of their 12 home games and scoring at least twice in 11 of those matches. You can always count on the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette to deliver at home and with the addition of highly rated Pepe, it will be difficult for any team to deal with them. Unai Emery will have high hopes that his team can deliver this weekend with Arsenal being victorious in their last 10 games vs Burnley.

BURNLEY:

With the Europa League burden in the 2018/2019 season the Clarets made a woeful start and ended up in the relegation battle, but they managed to survive. The very convincing victory at home vs Southampton will give them a massive boost going into Saturday’s early kick-off. The last time Burnley won a league game vs Arsenal was back in 1974. Sean Dyche’s men will need to improve on their travelling form from last season, especially against a potent attack like the Gunners.

PROBABLE LINE-UPS AND TEAM NEWS:

Arsenal: 4-3-3

Leno,

Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Sokratis, Monreal,

Guendouzi, Xhaka, Ceballos,

Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang.

*Ozil and Kolasinac still unlikely to feature on Saturday due to security concerns for the pair. New signing Tierney stepped up his recovery, but the weekend’s match might be too early. Youngsters Nelson and Willock did enough to impress the manager vs Newcastle, but should only feature on the bench.

Burnley: 4-4-2

Pope,

Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters,

Gudmundsson, Cork, Westwood, McNeil,

Barnes, Wood.

*Sean Dyche should name an unchanged team for this weekend’s fixture after their comfortable victory without any new injury concerns.

PREDICTION:

Arsenal are big favourites to win this game on Saturday mainly down to their superb record vs Burnley. They have beaten Burnley on the last 3 occasions, scoring at least 3 times in each game. Aubameyang has scored twice in each of his previous meetings vs Burnley and this makes them his favourite opponent in the Premier League. Burnley has the ability to dominate physically and create opportunities against Arsenal. They will try and frustrate the Gunners by sitting deep and hitting long balls to their forwards. Arsenal’s quality should tell at the end, but they won’t have it all their way. I expect a high scoring match with Arsenal winning.
