westham1718Europa League action continues on Thursday and BetOlimp nail up a variety of bets for West Ham vs. Sevilla and Galatasaray vs Barcelona

West Ham vs. Sevilla

David Moyes only prior home H2H meeting with Sevilla came in his ill-fated Real Sociedad tenure, though he did win 4-3, a result which if replicated would at least force extra time in this Europa League clash. West Ham will be without the services of the influential Jarrod Bowen and main striker Michail Antonio for this, though it was Ukrainian Andriy Yarmolenko who made the headlines with his goal last time out to end a three-game losing run for the Hammers.

Should they produce a 2+ goal margin of victory for just the sixth time in their 21st home game of 2021/22, it would be the first time that West Ham reached a European quarter-final since 1980/81, though that will be tough against a Sevilla side unbeaten in their last eight meetings with English sides.

With the Europa League final scheduled to be held at Sevilla’s home stadium, they have extra motivation to at least hold out for a draw and progress from this tie. The visitors are winless in seven away games, though five of them ended level, thrice accompanied by a 1-1 score line.

Draw 3.29

On loan from Manchester United, Anthony Martial is expected to step in to fill the void left by Lucas Ocampos who is banned from this game. Expect the Frenchman to be amongst the action as he seeks a 12th goal contribution in his 15th meeting with West Ham (G6, A5).

Martial, Anthony to score anytime 4.10

By all accounts, this looks like it will be a tight affair, though West Ham’s need to score could leave them open at the back and as such, we predict that both teams will score in this game. However, a conservative 1-1 draw appears to be a likely outcome with both sides struggling for consistency.

Galatasaray vs Barcelona

It was a big shock when Galatasaray left the Camp Nou with a draw last week following a 0-0 draw, and it is questionable as to whether lightning can strike twice. The Turkish outfit are unbeaten in their last three on home soil, but have only won two of their last eight at Nef Stadyumu, a run that includes four defeats. They are not the force of old days, sitting in 11th place in the Süper Lig, while they have only beaten Barca once, way back in 1994.

The stalemate between these two sides last week was the first time Barcelona had failed to score since their 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in December, and they responded by hammering Osasuna 4-0 on Sunday. Xavi’s side have won five of their last six, scoring four goals in four of those games, including a 4-0 battering of Athletic Bilbao and a 4-2 win in Italy against Napoli. They are unbeaten on the road in 11, winning the last three, and should be able to progress to the last eight.

We predict Barcelona will win the match, but there could well be plenty of goals, so we bet over 2,5 goals.

Good luck!
