AUSTRALIA vs INDIA 4th Test, Brisbane. Friday 15 Jan @ 00:30

The Indians showed incredible fortitude to battle to a draw in Sydney but instead of arriving in Brisbane on a high they seem to be physically and mentally in tatters for this series decider.

Setting the Scene

Brisbane is usually a gorgeous place to tour with plenty of sights and sounds to attract the visitors but during current times the Indians are mostly holed up in their hotel (apparently also without housekeeping). A number of Indian batsmen have at times shown their ability on tour and they will need them to dig deep one last time, the big concern however will lie with whether their bowlers have the legs left in them to knock the Aussies over twice. The hosts for their part will try to bounce back and prove that their fifth day impotence was merely a once-off.

How I see it playing out

No Kohli, no Bumrah, no Jadeja surely equals no chance. The hosts will be hoping (and expecting) a lively Gabba pitch just ripe for them to put the knockout punch on their sub-continent opponent who’ve battled hard but should come up just short I fear.

Betolimp Best Bets

Top India 1st Innings Bowler – M Saini @ 4.50

Saini impressed in Sydney and with a pitch that should suit I reckon he’s a solid play. The man has wheels for days and he is one of the few players who should have some gas left in his tank.

Top India 1st Innings Batsman – R Pant @ 7.50

Pant has been one of the strong fighters for the Indians and even if the team starts to crumble at the back end of this tour we can be sure Pant will be fighting until the very end.

Top Australia 1st Innings Batsman – M Harris @ 5.50

In as a replacement at the top Harris will be keen to make use of this opportunity. With Wade not exactly a certainty down the order Marcus has a chance to put himself firmly in contention for future selection with a good show here.

Man of the Match – P Cummins @ 11.00

After a decent first innings effort with both bat and ball we got a touch unlucky with the Jadeja injury costing us a lively runner in the Man of the Match market in the 3rd test. This time around I am banking on Pat Cummins to finish the job for the hosts. I’m expecting the Gabba to assist the quicks as usual and for the Aussies to try and put the series to bed with a fierce pace attack.
