BIG BASH Weekend 19 & 20 Dec

There is another weekend of BBL action to sink our teeth into. Here is where my bets are heading in the two Big Bash games.

Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Renegades, Sat 19 Dec @ 02:10

The Renegades put in a dominant display in their opener as the bowlers skittled Perth before Shaun Marsh banked the win. In their second outing the Melbourne bowlers had no answer for Josh Philippe and Jordan Silk and the batsmen gave up the ghost in spectacular fashion. In Lalor and Richardson they have two quality white ball operators.

Hobart have three games under their belt with two wins and one loss. The Hurricanes have an impressive batting line-up with quality at the top and now apparently some hitting power lower down in the form of Tim David. On the bowling front the trio of Faulkner, Boland and Meredith are looking more than useful.

Betolimp Best Bets

Top Renegades Bowler – J Lalor @ 4.33

Both Richardson and Lalor look in good form but the value lies with the latter for mind.

Top Renegades Batsman – S Marsh @ 3.25

Marsh already has one score under his belt. The lefty is a class act who still has dreams of pulling the baggy green back on.

To score a fifty – Darcy Short YES @ 3.20

It’s literally been a case of hit or miss from Short to start the comp. In the middle of two failures he added a fluent 70 and if the current trend continues the Aussie international should be back in the runs again this time around.

Man of the Match – J Faulkner @ 15.00

Faulkner has looked in good form with the ball and it is surely just a matter of time before he adds a few runs with the bat to add further value for us in this market.

To Win the Game – Hobart Hurricanes @ 1.74

The bowling squads match up well but in my opinion the Hurricanes hold the edge with various batsmen able to pitch in.

Sydney Sixers vs Adelaide Strikers, Sun 20 Dec @ 02:10

Josh Philippe went BOOM in the Sixers’ last outing as the Sydney side became the first team to pass the 200-run mark. James Vince and Jordan Silk also seem to be batsman who have found their range early whilst Ben Dwarshuis is the tournament leading wicket taker at present.

The Strikers look to have plenty of options. Rashid Khan hasn’t dominated yet but Carey, Weatherald and Worrall have all pitched in with the bat whilst Siddle and Agar have done the job with the ball.

Betolimp Best Bets

Top Sixers Batsman – J Vince @ 3.75

Philippe will be the talk of the town after the last outing but I will take Vince the steady performer to deliver for me.

Top Sixers Bowler – B Dwarshuis @ 3.00

Been in superb wicket taking form so I will keep the faith for Dwarshuis to keep delivering.

Top Sixers Batsman – M Renshaw @ 5.00

In their first match Renshaw showed some glimpses of his touch. Batting at number 3 there seems a bit of value on this price.

Man of the Match – D Worrall @ 21.00

Has looked tidy with the ball and has some hitting form on his side as well.

Strikers to win the game @ 1.77

Adelaide walked into a Darcy Short master class in their only defeat but have looked a team with plenty of options, good balance and in solid form. I’m backing the Strikers to get the job done here.
