BIG BASH Play-offs
Both Melbourne sides as well as the Hobart Hurricanes have had to pack their bags and its over to the Top 5 to battle it out for glory. Let’s have a look at the Eliminator and the Qualifier for this preview.
Brisbane Heat vs Adelaide Strikers, 29 January @ 10:30 Brisbane
Both sides had to sweat like a politician in church to squeak into the playoffs but for one the stay of execution will have only lasted a few days. The Heat won their last 2 games so come in with the form but the Strikers won the recent head to head between these sides by posting 197 before knocking the Brisbane side over for a mere 115.
The Strikers miss Rashid Khan like I miss my alcohol during Lockdown. They have a competitive side rather than a star-studded one but I struggle to see how their bowlers can keep the Heat’s batsman from laying on the pain. The Strikers will need to get Lynn and Labuschagne in the sheds asap if they are to have a chance.

Top Strikers Batsman – Jake Weatherald @ 4.50
Carey, Salt and Head are the bug names but Weatherald has been consistent at the top so I will keep the faith.
Top Heat Bowler – Mitchell Swepson @ 5.00
The leggy hasn’t had his best return to domestic duty but I expect him to come good sooner rather than later. The Gabba wicket should suit him well.
Man of the Match – Marnus Labuschagne @ 11.00
I am happy sticking with Loose-bus-change in this market. I expect the Heat to do the business and Marnus delivers on both fronts so he looks a tasty price.
Player to score the most Sixes – Chris Lynn @ 5.00
Lynn is a volatile batsman so instead of backing him to be the top scorer for the home side I will just pick him to deliver the most sixes.
Sydney Sixers vs Perth Scorchers, 30 January @ 10:15 Canberra
The Sixers and the Scorchers will meet on Saturday to determine who wins a ticket to the big dance. The Scorchers have searing power on their side but the Sydney lads are a bunch who scrap well.

Top Sixers Batsman – Moses Henriques @ 5.50
Phillippe has been tremendous at the top but I like the value offered on Henriques who has been handed the no.4 spot.
Top Scorchers Batsman – Mitch Marsh @ 5.50
He comes in behind a host of others in decent form but Marsh is the x-factor player for Perth and I’m expecting big things from him.
Man of the Match – Dan Christian @ 13.00
I have a feeling the Sixers will edge this one and Christian is the type of all-round performer who could play a huge role.
