Couch Critic previews Dolphins v Titans in the Momentum One Day Cup including best bets with @Olimp_SA
MOMENTUM ONE DAY CUP
Local domestic cricket is back up and running in South Africa. Here we have a look one of the upcoming matches in the competition and try and identify a few winners from a punting perspective.
Dolphins vs Titans, 14 Jan @ 10:00. Potchefstroom
The Dolphins started the comp swimmingly and find themselves already qualified for a spot in the semi-finals. The Titans were well beaten by the Dolphins in the opener on Saturday and will need a dramatic turn-around in fortunes to get themselves back in the playoff mix. The inexperience batting line-up of the Pretoria bases outfit was badly found out but the bowling attack will be hopeful of a much improved performance with the likes of Abbot, Dala, Ntini and Shamsi at their disposal.
With a contingent of Proteas as well as ex-internationals like Miller, Phehlukwayo, Zondo and Muthusamy the Durbanites should again prove tough to beat.
Betolimp Best Bets
The big boy has been recalled by the KZN franchise to add some experience to their attack and he has already shown his worth. Experience is a scarce commodity and I’m backing it to work in my favour.
Roelofsen is in fine form and Miller got his groove going last time out. But at the price the Protea allrounder offers a touch of value in this market in my opinion.
De Bruyn is the short-priced favourite but it’s easy to see why. He truly is the standout in the field for the Titans and I’m happy to get onboard the consistent domestic performer.
Shamis has just been named in the Proteas test squad to travel to Pakistan. In the company of his domestic piers I expect the chinaman bowler to work his magic.
