Couch Critic previews the Indian Premier League matches taking place from the 13th to 15th October including best bets from @Olimp_SA
We have hit the half-way mark, but the competition is still wide open. Here is where I am heading on the betting front during the mid-week games.
Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Chennai Super Kings, Tuesday 13 October – DSC Dubai
There is still enough time for any side to make a solid run for the title in the second half of the comp. CSK’s top three have all contributed but they have only managed a 170-plus score on two of their seven outings and their bowlers also need show a huge turnaround as Chennai have struggled for wickets. On Tuesday they meet a Sunrisers side that have struggled for consistency yet are a lethal when at their best.
Betolimp Bets:
To win the game – Sunrisers Hyderabad @ 1.98
CSK just have too many questions to answer at this stage whilst SRH are more settled.
To score the most sixes in the match – S Curran @ 13.00
The likes of Bairstow and Watson could go big if they play a long innings but if it comes down to an explosive little cameo at the end then Curran could be a good play at a nice price.
To score a fifty – D Warner YES @ 3.00
Warner looks to be finding his best form and against an attack that hasn’t looked threatening at all I expect him to pile on the runs.
Man of the Match – R Khan @ 10.00
I give the Sunrisers the edge in this one and Rashid is now operating at his very best.
Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals, Wednesday 14 October – DSC Dubai
The Royals seem a distance away form the levels of the Capitals at present yet should they be able to pic up the win there would be only two points separating them. Stokes is back and they need him to contribute more than Smith and Buttler have done to date. As a bowling unit this Capitals line-up is a dangerous one with Rabada, Nortje, Patel and Ashwin all very capable and in good form whilst they need the likes of Iyer and Shaw to keep delivering the runs.

Player to score most sixes – P Shaw @ 7.50
It will be interesting to see if the Capitals continue with Rahane as the replacement for Pant. With the conservative Dhawan and Rahane in the order it will put more pressure on Shaw and Iyer to bat aggressively.
Top Delhi Batsman – A Carey @ 8.00
The injury to Pant also means Alex Carey should take the gloves and I will be taking a little dabble that he looks to impress in one of the few outings he could get in IPL 2020.
Man of the Match – R Ashwin @ 17.00
Rabada is cruising in the wicket-taking department but this time around I am backing the skipper to use his guile to pick up a few crucial scalps for his side. Stokes and Tawatia are two left-handers who he will target as potential victims.
Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kings XI Punjab, Thursday 15 October – Sharjah
The poor Punjab just haven’t gotten out of the blocks at all in 2020. Rahul and Agarwal are piling on the runs at the top but apart from that the Kings XI are looking far from royal. RCB have all of a sudden unlocked their best XI and will take some stopping now.

Virat Kohli to score a fifty – YES @ 2.75
After a slow start to the competition king Kohli is starting to look like his old self.
Top Kings XI Bowler – R Bishnoi @ 6.00
Axar Patel and R Ashwin both enjoyed their outing in Sharjah las time around whilst Rashid also put in a good showing recently. The leggie has as good a chance is any in a struggling Kings attack to taste some success.
Top Kings XI Batsman – M Agarwal @ 4.00
Rahul has shaded his opening partner recently but I have faith in the form of Agarwal for him to put in another good knock.
Player to score the most sixes – AB de Villiers @ 5.50
Clearly AB is just operating at a different level at present. I’m backing MR 360 to go big yet again.
