IPL: Thursday & Friday 29 -30 October

Each team now only has a couple of games left to play and the four playoff spots as well as the advantageous top-two position is still very much up for grabs. Let’s look at Thursday and Friday’s action before the final weekend of regular action.

Chennai Supper Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders, Thursday 29 October – DSC Dubai

KKR still have their fait in their own hands. Two closing victories will see them secure a playoff spot and even have a shot at the top-two. Anything less than that and they will struggle to stay alive. They get a good opportunity to make a strong move as they face the drop-outs of the competition in the form of CSK.

Betolimp Bets:

Most Match Sixes – Chennai Super Kings @ 2.15

CSK haven’t always been the most fluent in terms of boundary hitting but the likes of Jadeja and Curran have been keen down the order. Kolkata have struggled to fire up their A game and it seems likely that Russell will remain on the sidelines. I’m banking on Chennai being the team playing with freedom.

Top CSK Batsman – S Curran @ 6.50

The Super Kings have realised that Curran is one of their few in-from players and looked to give him more time at the crease.

Top KKR Bowler – L Ferguson @ 3.10

I’m sticking with the Kiwi quick who has looked the standout with the ball for KKR.

Man of the Match – R Jadeja @ 17.00

Jadeja has been a consistent performer for Chennai and is always in the action in any of the three departments of the game.

Kings XI vs Rajasthan Royals, Friday 30 October – Abu Dhabi

The Royals kept themselves alive in the comp by chasing down 195 against Mumbai on Sunday. RR will have to lace up and go again though as they need to win two-from-two to stay involved. On Friday they clash against a Kings XI side on a five-match winning streak.

Betolimp Bets:

To win the game – Kings XI @ 1.72

Rajasthan have shown some glimpses of what they can do when at full tilt but the Kings XI appear to be an immovable force at present. Havin gotten themselves right back into the mix I don’t see Punjab going belly-up now.

To score the most sixes – Kings XI @ 2.05

Pooran and Gayle two of the biggest hitters in the tournament and I see them continuing on their merry way.

Top Rajasthan Batsman – B Stokes @ 4.50

Stokes kicked back into gear last time out and off the back of a fiery week with some Marlon Samuels-related sledging the Englishman will be keen to do some talking on the pitch.

Top Kings XI Bowler – R Bishnoi @ 5.50

The young leggie has been a revelation on the scene over the past 12 months after being the top wicket taker at the Under-19 World Cup and has 12 scalps to date in this IPL.
