NRL ROUND 10 – FRIDAY & SATURDAY MATCHES

Its’ Magic Round in the NRL this weekend which means all roads lead to Brisbane! Despite the Bunker ensuring my TV was very much in danger from flying objects the Eels got the job done for us this past weekend which set us on our way to a profitable Round 9. Let’s hope that Round 10 can magically turn punts into returns for us this weekend.

TIGERS vs KNIGHTS – Fri 14 May @ 10:00, Brisbane

The Tigers finished strong but for the most part they were a distant second to the Titans last week as clearly a Round 8 victory was not the turning point for the Wests. It was a tale of two halves for the Knights against the Raiders as they needed a strong second forty to pull them out of the mire. They may still be a bit mercurial but the playmakers are back and this Newcastle outfit certainly has some game. I’m not opposing them in this one against a Tigers side that have mostly looked toothless.

SEA EAGLES vs BRONCOS – Fri 14 May @ 12:05, Brisbane

Manly took some time before clicking into gear against the Warriors last week but when they did engage Turbo they got away from their opponents like a BMW driver taking off at a traffic light. The Broncos again looked plucky last week only to get plucked at the death by their neighbours. They are the hosts for the weekend but the home side will find it tough going to ground the high-flying Sea Eagles who look ready to soar at this stage of the comp – I don’t see the Broncos defense living with the lethal attack of the other team in maroon.

BULLDOGS vs RAIDERS – Sat 15 May @ 07:00, Brisbane

The Raiders looked to have woken from their slumber with an impressive first forty but instead find themselves still nursing the hangover of a five-match losing streak. The Canberra boys are still without Nicholl-Klokstad and Jarrod Croker and have now also lost Jordan Rapana. Despite their lengthening injury list this has to be seen as a “get-right” game for the struggling Raiders. The Dogs have however been able to keep better teams honest so I won’t be piling in.

SHARKS vs RABBITOHS – Sat 15 May @ 09:30, Brisbane

I expect the Sharks to be in the wrong place at the wrong time on Saturday. Both teams come into this one off the back of a rogering but it’s Souths who are sure to be revved up for a chance to redeem themselves. Reynolds is back and the Sharks are about to be bitten.

BETOLIMP BETS

Manly Sea Eagles -8.5 over Broncos @ 1.87

The Broncos haven’t been able to string an 80 minute effort together whilst Manly are a team on a mission with Tommy T in their rans.

Rabbitohs -7.5 over the Sharks @ 1.78

The Bunnies are sure to hit back hard after taking mauling from the Storm last week.

Double: Sea Eagles onto Rabbitohs @ 1.84

The Bunnies were disgraced last week and they are sure to come out firing. I also don’t see the Broncos overturning the high-flying Sea Eagles.

Round 10 Exotics:

Tigers vs Knights

Kalyn Ponga to score 2 or more tries @ 7.00

Sea Eagles vs Broncos

Xavier Coates to score the first try for the Broncos @ 4.25

Jason Saab to score 3 or more tries @ 21.00

Bulldogs vs Raiders

HT/FT Margin: Bulldogs (1-8) / Raiders (1-12) @ 12.00

Sharks vs Rabbitohs

Rabbitohs -19.5 @ 3.92

Cody Walker to score 2 or more tries @ 6.50
