NRL ROUND 19

There is no time to catch your breath here, we are straight into another Round of NR action. As we near the business end of the com we can clearly start to see those sides who want to compete for the trophy, those who are tracking for a top 8 finish and those who have lost interest in 2021 altogether.

EELS vs RAIDERS – Thu 22 July @ 11:50, Gold Coast

Missing Cam Munster one would have feared the Eels finding things slippery in the Gold Coast last week but they blitzed the home team with a superb opening half performance. The Raiders made me look the fool with a strong final quarter to hand the Sharks a beating but this week they have to tackle Parramatta without Wighton in their ranks.

Canberra haven’t looked bad the last few weeks and I reckon they are capable of putting up a fight despite the Eels having the temperament to get the job done in the end.

ROOSTERS vs KNIGHTS – Fri 23 Jul @ 10:00 Sunshine Coast

The Roosters will be buzzing after recovering from a slow start against the Cowboys last week. It will be crucial keeping an eye out for the availability of Ponga as those believing one man doesn’t make a team certainly haven’t seen Newcastle sans Kalyn – an F1 Ferrari missing its to top gears is nothing more than a fancy-looking Fiat I tell you!

COWBOYS vs STORM – Fri 23 Jul @ 11:55, Townsville

The Storm charge into Townsville looking for an impressive 15th straight victory. Having notched up 632 points in their 2021 campaign there is no team within 100 points of matching their attacking prowess whilst their opponents on Friday have the second worst defensive record in the comp. Even with stars like Munster and Finucane given a rest the bookies are taking no chances here.

The value could lie with including a bigger Cowboys plus cap into your weekend multies but proceed with caution when opposing the juggernaut that is Melbourne at present. To the exotics I go for this one then.
