NRL ROUND 7 – SATURDAY & SUNDAY MATCHES

There were no dead cats at all last weekend. The Sea Eagles romped past the Titans, the Tigers made the Bunnies go deep and the Warriors toppled the Dragons to leave me battered and bruised. Only Kyle Feldt in the final match of the weekend was able to stop the bleeding for us somewhat. Let’s delve into Round 7 to try and get back up and running.

CRONULLA SHARKS vs CANTERBURY BULLDOGS – Sat 24 Apr @ 09:30 Sydney

In a thoroughly entertaining clash the Sharks got Ponga’d against Newcastle whilst the Dogs were left to feel like crooks after defeat to the Cowboys. The Bulldogs have leaked points like a Land Rover leaks oil – with Shaun (Magic) Johnson back the Sharks will smell blood in the water this weekend.

NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS vs CANBERRA RAIDERS – Sat 24 Apr @ 11:35, Sydney

After a dismal start to the year the Cowboys are now on a two-match winning streak. The Raiders have been handed two sound defeats over the past fortnight but one would do well to keep in mind that it was against the Panthers and Eels – two of the top teams in the comp. I don’t consider Canberra a Top4 team but I do see them as considerable better than the Queenslanders.

WEST TIGERS vs MANLY SEA EAGLES – Sun 25 Apr @ 05:45, Sydney

Both the Tigers and the Sea Eagles came charging back in Round 6. Manly humiliated the Titans whilst the Wests pushed one of the title favourites into Golden Point over time. This should prove an entertaining affair. I see the men in maroon getting the job done but the Tigers should chalk up a few scores themselves.

SYDNEY ROOSTERS vs ST GEORGE DRAGONS – Sun 15 Apr @ 08:05, Sydney

The Roosters were soundly beaten by the Storm in the end but the youngsters crowed loud enough to have me positive of their chances against a Dragons side who need to bounce back if they are to challenge at the SCG.

MELBOURNE STORM vs NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS – Sun 25 Apr @ 10:15, Melbourne

The Storm clinically broke down the Roosters last week. They will find a different challenge in the form of the passionate and expressive Warriors but at the end of the day the Storm are masters at churning out the ugly result.
