NRL ROUND 19 – SATURDAY & SUNDAY MATCHES
Let’s take a look at the rest of the weekend’s action in Round 19 of the NRL.
RABBITOHS vs WARRIORS – Sat 24 Jul @ 07:00, Sunshine Coast
The Rabbitohs find themselves just two points off the top of the table after a strong run. Scoring has proven effortless for the Bunnies with 29 tries scored in their last 4 outings. Whilst Souths have been sharp as a razor on attack their defense has been more Bic and less Gillette.
The Warriors have had a terrible run of things of late and one can’t help but expect Walker and Reynolds to have the Kiwi’s at their mercy as and when they decide to step up the wizardry.
SEA EAGLES vs TIGERS – Sat 24 Jul @ 09:30, Brisbane
Manly should prove cherry-ripe for this clash as Dale and Tommy T step up to the plate to tackle the Tigers. Wests have always been creatively competent in my book but they will find it tough to be Picasso against a Sea Eagles team that will take confidence from last week’s victory without their two Origins stars in attendance.
The cap is a big one and my biggest confidence is in expecting points to flow at Suncorp.
PANTHERS vs BRONCOS – Sat 24 Jul @ 11:35, Brisbane
Bronco fans would have been disappointed with their team’s capitulation after looking strong at half time last week. Of course fans of the horses have learnt full well how to take disappointment on the chin by this time!
The Panthers are nowhere near the dominant force they were earlier in the season but the Broncos are the type of team that tend to crumble completely when things start going against them. I’m leaning the default “home side” to keep things tidy enough but there isn’t a lot f confidence in this call from my side.
DRAGONS vs TITANS – Sun 25 Jul @ 05:50, Gold Coast
The Titans have mixed the good with terrible quite frequently in their 2021 campaign. Duffty is back for the Dragons which always gives me more confidence in their chances but there is no Corey Norman and I can’t look past David Fifita causing havoc against a brittle Dragons defense.
BULLDOGS vs SHARKS – Sun 25 Jul @ 08:05, Gold Coast
I’ve often lead the charge in drumming up support for the Sharks whilst I have little love for the Bulldogs. In their last three outings Cronulla have lost to the Broncos, beaten a Warriors side on a dismal run and lost with room to spare to the Raiders.
This is the last chance I’m giving the Sharks to show some bite, but I won’t be betting the farm!
