NRL ROUND 12 – THURSDAY & FRIDAY MATCHES
It was a pretty weak effort from yours truly in Round 11 but thankfully we don’t have to wait long to get back into things. Let’s look at the early action from Round 12 which is also the annual Indigenous Round for 2021.
BRONCOS vs STORM – Thu 27 May @ 11:40, Brisbane
The Broncos bucked their own trend and somehow pulled off a stunning upset by beating the Roosters with some room to spare last week. The Brisbane side magically turned things around from a 50-6 hammering at the hands of Manly in Round 10 but its not often the case that one flash gets you an invite to the Playboy Mansion. I prefer the Storm to get the hearts racing with their sexy plays this week – Paps and Munster are still missing but Jahrome Hughes returns to the lineup.
COWBOYS vs WARRIORS – Fri 28 May @ 10:00, Townsville
I’ve struggled calling both these sides right this season. Last week the Cowboys came good (despite a mid-match hiccup) whilst the Warriors performed better than I expected against the Tigers. I still feel the North Queenslanders are playing with plenty of flair and momentum at present and am surprised to get them as the underdogs in this clash at home.
TIGERS vs DRAGONS – Fri 28 May @ 11:55, Sydney
The Tigers flopped last week whilst the Dragons pushed the Sharks to the brink. From where I was sitting it was poor Cronulla rather than improved Dragons so I’m still sticking with the men from the West to make me some cash in this one. The Dragons are still without Dufty and Ravalawa so despite the Tigers making me sweat last week I will keep the faith and order one Tiger curry again this week.
