NRL ROUND 12 – SATURDAY & SUNDAY MATCHES
Let’s take a look at the weekend’s action in Round 12 of the NRL.
PANTHERS vs BULLDOGS – Sat 29 May @ 07:00, Penrith
Panther fans might be fearing that the racing car hits the wall at the final bend in 2021 but it’s nothing compared to struggling to get the Fiat Uno jump started in the first place – as is the conundrum facing their opponents this week. I don’t see Penrith hitting a speed wobble this week and it will be a feat in itself for the Bulldogs to keep their hosts to the speed limit in this one.
RABBITOHS vs EELS – Sat 29 May @ 09:30, Sydney
The Bunnies have gone walk-about the last month or so. Heavy defeats to the Storm and Panthers have shown the chinks in the Souths armour. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a big Rabbitohs bounce back against an Eels outfit who will miss the influence of Campbell-Gillard but despite their loss to Manly Parramatta are a decent side and I prefer to back the expected tight tussle between to proud teams.
ROOSTERS vs RAIDERS – Sat 29 May @ 11:35, Gosford
The Roosters got their tailfeathers well and truly plucked last week with a very scruffy showing. The Raiders though have only a victory over the lowly Bulldogs to show for their efforts the past five weeks and things just aren’t very sunny in that camp at present. I expect the Chooks to do the business in Gosford.
SHARKS vs TITANS – Sun 30 May @ 06:00, Coffs Harbour
The Sharks got past the struggling Dragons by the narrowest of margins and also have a recent 48-0 mauling at the ands of the Panthers still fresh in their rear-view mirror. The Titans remain an up-and-down team but should be better for having David Fifita back in their ranks. But it’s “Up Cronulla” for me this week as Magic Johnson, Jesse Ramien, Ronaldo Mulitalo and the other Fifita (Andrew) all return. I give the Sharkies a decent chance of taking a bite out of the Gold Coast side on Sunday.
KNIGHTS vs SEA EAGLES – Sun 30 May @ 08:05, Newcastle
Manly will once again man the final match of the weekend. Kalyn Ponga is out and I expect the Sea Eagles running on Turbo power at present to make the Newcastle side bleed in this one. On paper there is little wrong with the Knights but they just haven’t been able to deliver this season whilst the Sea Eagles are soaring at present.
