SUPER RUGBY AU ROUND 7

Round 6 threw the form book out the window and leaves us with some tough decisions to make as we head into Round 7 of Rugby AU. We will dust our selves off, lace up the boots and go again – as we always do into this weekend of rugby in search of some winning punts!

Force vs Waratahs – Friday 14 Aug @ 11:05, Gold Coast

The Waratahs pulled a performance out of nowhere to smash the Reds last week. The Sydney based outfit are well and truly back in the mix and will want to keep their momentum going against a Force side yet to taste victory. The men from the West return after the bigger disappointment of losing in extra time to the Rebels a fortnight ago. The Force will be happy to have Prior back in the mix.

Reds vs Rebels – Saturday 15 August @ 11:15, Suncorp Brisbane

The Rebels pulled a rabbit out of the hat in seriously wet conditions last week. Beating the table topping Brumbies with a strong forward effort was commendable and the Melbourne boys will feel confident going into this week’s action. The Reds dropped the ball badly in a dismal showing against the Tahs in Week 6. It will take plenty for the Queenslanders to come back from such a disappointing effort.

BETOLIMP BEST BETS

Force vs Waratahs

Half Time / Full Time Margin – Force (1-8) / Waratahs (1-12) @ 15.00

Anytime Tryscorer – Michael Hooper @ 3.50

I’m expecting the Force to empty the tank in the first half hour and the Tahs to eventually get clear. Skipper Hooper has been a touch quiet on the tryscoring front and it’s about time he leads the charge.

Reds vs Rebels

Rebels to win @ 2.50

Half Time / Full Time Margin – Reds (1-8) / Rebels (1-12) @ 15.00

First Tryscorer – Jordan Petaia @ 11.00

Anytime Tryscorer - Pone Fa’amausili @ 10.50

I’m having one last go on the Pone(y) since he’s back I the starting line-up. After being a late withdrawal last week due to his father passing away Petaia is back in and I’m backing the talented youngster to start the scoring despite expecting the Rebels to win the game after a strong early start from the home side.
