superugby2018Couch Critic previews Griquas v Sharks and Stormers v Cheetahs in Round 6 of Super Rugby Unlocked including best bets with @Olimp_SA

SA Super Rugby Unlocked 6

The Stormers delivered in spades for us in Round 5 but a late Elton Jantjies penalty meant we had a losing weekend on the SA Rugby front. Here is where my money is going in Round 6.

Griquas vs Sharks – Friday 13 Nov @ 19:00, Kimberley

Griquas have struggled since their opening week show of defiance at Loftus. This time around they face s Sharks team fresh off an ugly mugging of the Cheetahs in Durbs. This is a tough game for me since I have little confidence in either of these sides at present and I will have to look somewhere other than the handicap for an interest in this one.

Betolimp Bets:

HT/FT Margin – Sharks (1-8) / Sharks (13+) @ 5.50

I believe the Sharks will have to build an innings before they can cut loose.

Anytime Tryscorer – Anthony Volmink @ 2.10

The stars are surely aligned for him to score on his return to Kimberley with his new team.

First Tryscorer – Kerron van Vuuren @ 15.00

The old corner driving maul strategy can never be ignored.

Last Tryscorer – Manie Libbok @ 12.00

Libbok has been demoted to the bench this week and he will be keen to remind everyone that he hasn’t moved to Durban to warm the bench.

Lions vs Pumas – Saturday 14 Nov @ 16:30, Johannesburg

Game called off

Stormers vs Cheetahs – Saturday 14 Nov @ 19:00, Cape Town

The Stormers finally bounced back to deliver a handicap beating performance. It was however “only” against the Griquas and now they will have to show themselves capable of doing the same against one of the bigger opponents in the competition. The Cheetahs came up short against the Sharks in a dreary match at Kings Park and the men from Bloem need to show that their early tournament form is not a thing of the past. The Cheetahs have lost a number of layers over the last few weeks and many will be holding their breath regarding the fitness of Frans Steyn as he could prove crucial for their chance of success.

Betolimp Bet:

Stormers / Stormers (HT/FT) @ 1.79

I just can’t get myself to take the Stormers to beat a handicap at this stage. They do however usually start well on their home patch and since the chances are that this game won’t be completely dry the visitors will struggle to play catch-up rugby in conditions that don’t suit their running game.

Additional play: Stormers to lead by 1-7 points in the first half @ 2.70
