liverpool1819Our English Premier League treble for Thursday 26th December includes tips for Chelsea v Southampton, Crystal Palace v West Ham and Leicester City v Liverpool with the odds boosted by @Olimp_SA

We came up 1 leg short in last weekend's treble where Wolves came through for us with a win at Norwich, Manchester City and Leicester both found the net in their match up but a pick of over 2.5 goals let us down in the Brighton v Sheffield United game.

Our record now stands at 3 successful trebles from 6 attempts and our focus turns to a Boxing Day play and the odds have been boosted to 10.30.

Leg 1 Chelsea v Southampton

Stamford Bridge is our first port of call as fourth placed Chelsea take on fourth bottom Southampton.

Chelsea came away from Spurs with an excellent 2-0 victory on Sunday and they now bid to complete the double over Southampton whom they beat 4-1 at St. Mary's in early October. Chelsea's home record of 4 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats is only the eighth best in the division and 6 of 9 visiting teams have scored at Stamford Bridge this season.

Southampton came away from Aston Villa with a 3-1 win last time out, a result which gave them a 3 point cushion over the relegation zone. Whilst the Saints have struggled in home fixtures this season they have done reasonably well when travelling and 11 of their 18 points have been earned away from home. In fact Southampton have scored in every away game since they crashed 3-0 at Burnley on the opening weekend and that includes visits to the likes of Spurs, Arsenal Wolves and Manchester City.

Even though this is a tough task for the visitors we fancy Southampton will at least contribute to the scoring.

Prediction: Both teams to score

Leg 2 Crystal Palace v West Ham

We stay in London for leg 2, a derby match between Palace and West Ham.

Palace were beaten 1-0 at Newcastle last time out and they finished the round just below half way in the standings. Prior to that they played out draws, 0-0 at Watford and 1-1 at home to Brighton and goal scoring remains a problem. Roy Hodgson's side average less thana 1 goal per game and in front of their own supporters they have scored just 7 goals in 9 matches, 3 of which finished all square.

West Ham were without a game last weekend as their scheduled opponents Liverpool were otherwise engaged. The Hammers are 4 points behind Palace in the standings and their away record is identical to Palace's home form, 3 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats. Those 3 draws came early in the season but this looks set to be a tight game and another share of the spoils looks to have decent claims.

Prediction: Match result draw

Leg 3 Leicester City v Liverpool

We finish with the game of the day as second placed Leicester take on league leaders Liverpool.

Last week's 3-1 defeat at Manchester City was something of a reality check for Leicester but they are unbeaten at home this season and they have scored at least twice in 7 of 9 at the King Power Stadium. Jamie Vardy's tally of 17 goals puts him well clear at the top of the goalscoring charts and Leicester will be itching to have a crack at the league leaders who beat them 2-1 at Anfield earlier in the season with the decisive goal coming from the penalty spot in the 95th minute.

Liverpool return to the title race after a successful trip to Qatar for the Club World Cup. With an unbeaten record of 16 wins and 1 draw (1-1 at Manchester United) they look hard to argue with and as far as the stats are concerned, 6 of their 8 road trips have seen backers of over 2.5 goals collect.

Of the last 7 Premier League head to heads between these sides 6 have seen a total of at least 3 goals scored and we are backing that trend to continue here.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals
