Prior to lockdown we landed 5 successful trebles from 17 attempts but we couldn't add to the success tally in our first attempt since the season resumed. We stick with the same match result, over 2.5 goals and both teams to score format for Thursday's fixtures and the odds have been boosted to 5.50
Leg 1 Bournemouth v Spurs
Bournemouth continue to struggle and a 5-2 defeat at Manchester United at the weekend means they have taken just 1 point from their last 8 league games. They remain in the relegation zone and short of confidence as they prepare for the visit of Spurs.
Spurs have been inconsistent since the restart and their most recent road trip ended in a 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United. Their away form is way below expectations but they are still chasing European qualification and a 1-0 home win over Everton on Monday night was a timely boost.
Although that away record is a concern the visitors get the vote to come out on top.
Prediction: Spurs to win
Leg 2 Everton v Southampton
Everton were poor in that defeat at Spurs but they had taken 7 points from the previous 9 available which included a 2-1 home win over Leicester. A top half finish is also the aim of Southampton who surprised Manchester City with a 1-0 win at St. Mary's last weekend. That performance suggested the Saints have plenty of appetite for the remaining games and they have scored 3 goals in both of their road trips since the season resumed.
Southampton will be positive in their approach and we fancy that will lead to goals for both sides.
Prediction: Both teams to score
Leg 3 Aston Villa v Manchester United
Villa are another side running out of time to get themselves out of the relegation zone. Their last league win came back on the 21st January and they have picked up just 2 points in 9 subsequent league outings.
United are the form team right now and they have been making up ground on the top 4 at a rate of knots. They have won each of their last 3 scoring 11 goals in the process so you can understand why they are a short price to win this game.
We need an over 2.5 goals pick and with the visitors in top form and Villa desperate for a result, this game fits the bill.
