Football ManCity120@ZAPunter provides his betting tips for the English Premier League match between Norwich City and Manchester City which takes place on Saturday 14th September

NORWICH CITY VS. MANCHESTER CITY, SATURDAY 18:30

Norwich welcome Man City to Carrow Road which looks like a complete miss match on paper. When the Canaries received the fixture list for this season, this game would have been marked as the example of how big the step up will be in the Premier League. Fans have been very entertained by the attacking style of football, Norwich plays and all their games have been entertaining, while Manchester City has remained the powerhouse of English football, they are currently 2nd in the table behind Liverpool. The spending ability of each club is miles apart and we may see it on the pitch this Saturday.

NORWICH CITY:

Although the Canaries have lost 3 of their 4 matches on return to the Premier League, their performances at Carrow Road are an early source of encouragement. Going forward they have been excellent with Pukki scoring all the goals and Cantwell creating the chances. On the defensive side they are not close to Premier League standard and have been leaking goals at the back. Pukki has an excellent record at Norwich scoring 35 goals in 50 games. He also scored in both international games during the break. When we look at the Norwich expected goals statistics all we can say is = entertainment. Going forward xGf – 1.26 and at the back xGa – 1.85. Farke will know the incredibly difficult task ahead on this weekend and will know that even their best performance may not be good enough. The Canaries have injury problems in defence with Zimmermann and Klose both ruled out and Hanley will be a game time decision. Midfielder Trybull has also been ruled out by injury.

MANCHESTER CITY:

Man City again enters into another 2 horse race with Liverpool for the Premier League title and Pep knows that every game is important for them to topple the Reds once again. City are 2 points behind their title rivals after VAR once again ruled out a goal vs Tottenham at the end. Pep and the fans want the Champions League trophy this year, but don’t expect them to take their foot off the gas during the Premier League season. Their xGf is 2.86 and xGa 1.13, showing their unmatched attacking ability, but we have seen an increase in chances created against them this season. Laporte is the only major injury for Man City going into the game.

PROBABLE LINE-UPS:

Norwich: 4-2-3-1

Krul,

Aarons, Godfrey, Hanley, Lewis,

Amadou, Leitner,

Buendia, Stiepermann, Cantwell,

Pukki.

Man City: 4-3-2-1

Ederson,

Walker, Otamendi, Stones, Zinchenko,

Rodri, Silva, De Bruyne,

PREDICTION:

I predict Man City will want to start the first half strongly and be less aggressive in the 2nd half as they play Champions League next week. I think the quality gap is massive and we can see a familiar 1st half like Norwich’s first game vs Liverpool. Farke will have tried to find a way to stall the Man City defence, but he will know that there will be better opportunities to get results and send his chargers out with no fear. Man City to dominate the 1st half is my prediction!
