NRL ROUND 18 – THURSDAY & FRIDAY MATCHES
A couple of alternative bets saved our bacon last week but this time around Week 18 seems to offer a few more attractive plays as the NRL regular season heads towards its conclusion.
WEST TIGERS vs SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS – Thu 10 Sep @ 11:50, Bankwest Sydney
The Story thus far
The Rabbitohs are scrapping to try and achieve their best possible spot in the playoffs whilst the Tigers are desperately clinging onto the hope of sneaking into the top eight. The Wests come of a narrow win over Manly whilst the Bunnies came up short against the Storm last week.
Verdict
We have seen a clear gulf in class between the top eight sides in the comp and the rest. There is no shame in bending the knee to Melbourne and I expect Souths to bounce right back with a good win in the weekend opener.
CANTERBURY BULLDOGS VS MANLY SEA EAGLES – Fri 11 Sep @ 10:00, ANZ Sydney
The Story thus far
It’s been a tough old season for the Bulldogs who have only managed two victories in their 2020 campaign. Manly started off looking like a top eight side but without a few influential players the Sea Eagles have endured a torrid couple of months.
Verdict
Manly should finally get the “W” here considering the amount of changes to the Canterbury side but can anyone have any confidence in backing a Sea Eagles handicap at present?
PENRITH PANTHERS vs PARRAMATTA EELS – Fri 11 Sep @ 11:55, Penrith
The Story thus far
The Eels were able to snap a two-match losing streak against the Warriors last week and the third placed side will now want to ensure some pre-knockout momentum. Yet they will have a tough time against the silky-smooth Panthers who still aren’t showing signs of letting up.
Verdict
I am not yet convinced about this Eels team and can’t find myself going against the table topping Panthers here.
BETOLIMP BEST BETS (in order of preference)
The Eels need a bigger head-start than this to compete with the Panthers.
This looks like a juicy double on two teams I just can’t see losing this weekend.
The Bunnies usually start well and I don’t see them letting up before the final whistle.

Tigers vs Rabbitohs
Yes, I expect the Bunnies to start fast but Nofualuma is in a hungry mood at present and this price just looks nice and juicy.
Bulldogs vs Sea Eagles
RFM treated me well before and I do see Manly letting in a few.
Panthers vs Eels
My man Crichton didn’t even get on the board against the pathetic Broncos but I’m going back to the well one more time.
