Olimp3kSignUp jan19The title race is heading into the final bend before the contenders dash it out for the win on the finishing straight. Tottenham are still only a head behind the two front runners and Manchester United are coming on strong on the rails, yet one has to think that it will be a straight shootout between Liverpool and the other big team from Manchester – the Citizens.

This weekend Liverpool have the easier task in front of them. Bournemouth have had a solid season and find themselves in 10th spot on the table. On their day they can certainly trouble most, as a 4-0 thumping of Chelsea just over a week ago shows.

Whilst they are no easy beats Bournemouth’s more impressive results have come when enjoying the comforts of home. They have gone down to Wolverhampton, Tottenham (leaking 5 goals), Man U (conceding 4), Everton and Cardiff whilst playing away from home over the past two months – losing by two or more goals on all of these occasions.

The Kopp should leave Anfield in high spirits after this one.

Chelsea lie fourth on the table and are fresh off netting a fifer yet Maurizio Sarri has seen his team suffer a serious dip in form in 2019. Apart from hammering the hapless Huddersfield the Blues suffered a humiliating four duck drubbing at the hands of Bournemouth on the back of an almost equally embarrassing loss to Arsenal. The calendar year got underway with a disappointing nil-all draw at home to Southampton.

Needless to say, City will fancy their chances of staying neck-and-neck with the Reds after Sunday’s outing at the Etihad.

Other action to look out for is the rejuvenated Red Devils who will in all likelihood put a few past Fulham whilst the Gunners should have the fire power to blow Huddersfield away regardless of their own defensive frailties.

I’ll admit a bias here. Though I was never a forward myself I just love it when the brick shit house, the tall timber, the big boys, the fatties either get over for an unlikely score or play an important role in the lead-up to a try – it just catches my eye more than when it is pulled off by the fast, skinny blokes alone. On that note I’d like to jump right into a few of these moments that we witnessed during the last full round of Super Rugby in 2019.
