SATURDAY

SWALLOWS v SUNDOWNS

Swallows are 5th on the table and have had an incredible return to the top flight. They have only lost 1 match all season but have drawn an incredible 18 games out of 27, surely some sort of a record.

Their last match was a goalless draw at home to Stellenbosch and that was their 6th successive draw and 9th draw in their last 10 games. The previous 5 draws had all finished 1-1.

Under 2.5 goal backers would have collected profits in 9 out of the last 10 Swallows matches, although bear in mind the odds of under 2.5 goals in the PSL are a lot shorter than you would get in the EPL for example.

Swallows are undefeated at home this season and having a look at their goal markets in the games they have hosted, they have the lowest average goals per game at 1.5 in the Division with only 1 of the 13 matches reaching the 3 goal mark.

Mamelodi Sundowns have defended their title and they have certainly done it in style, losing only 1 game this season. They are undefeated in their last 5 and have won their last 4 in a row including beating SuperSport United 3-1 at home last time out.

They are undefeated on the road this season, drawing 4 and winning 9 of their 13 games and their away matches have averaged 2.2 goals with a fairly even split of over and under 2.5 goals.

These sides played to a 1-1 draw at Sundowns earlier this season.

Swallows 7/2

Draw 2/1

Mamelodi Sundowns 19/20

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Swallows (+1) at 17/20

Surely Swallows can’t play to another draw? Well, if they do this bet would collect and I do think they have a good chance of getting something out of this given Sundowns have now won the Title and may well step off the gas a bit.

Additional Bet: Swallows 1, Sundowns 1 at around 4/1 – not priced up at the time of posting

This has arrived in 70% of the last Swallows matches and I simply can’t resist having a nibble.

SUNDAY

TS GALAXY v ORLANDO PIRATES

Galaxy have had a solid start to PSL life and they currently sit 9th on the table and in with a real chance of a Top 8 finish.

Their recent form has been a bit dodgy with back-to-back defeats, away at Arrows and at home to Sundowns but prior to that they did win against Cape Town City and Baroka. They have won 5 and drawn 2 of 13 home matches and looking at the goals in those home games, the matches averaged 2 goals each with just 4 of the 13 games netting you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals.

Orlando Pirates are 4th on the log and won last time out 1-0 at home to AmaZulu. Prior to that they played to a goalless draw at Stellenbosch and in their last 4 PSL matches both teams to score YES punters would have lost all 4 games.

Pirates have had 4 wins, 5 draws and 4 losses in their 13 away games, but they have only won 1 of their last 5 and if we have a look at Pirates goal scoring stats on the road we see their matches have averaged just 1.8 goals with 10 of the 13 games delivering profits for under 2.5 goal backers.

TS Galaxy 7/2

Draw 7/4

Orlando Pirates 11/10

Suggested Bet: TS Galaxy win at 7/2

I am going for an upset win here as TS Galaxy have plenty to play for with a Top 8 place at stake.
