BettingDiaryEngland and Australia meet in the second of 3 ODI’s at Old Trafford on Sunday and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.

The first ODI also at Old Trafford was a high scoring affair with Australia batting first and rushing up 294 for 9 in their 50 overs. Warner once again failed at the top of the innings, but Stoinis with his 43, Marsh 73 and finally Maxwell with a lightning quick 77 saw them to a challenging total. From an England perspective Archer and Wood both grabbed 3 wickets and all of the England bowlers went for between 5 and 6 runs per over.

England’s reply got off to a poor start with Roy and Root going cheaply before a big partnership from Bairstow and Billings gave them a chance. They were always under pressure though and in the end could only muster 275 for 9. Hazlewood was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 26 off his 10 overs.

SUGGESTED BETS

BET: Batsman Match Runs, Warner over 35.5 at 17/20

Warner has been battling for form, but he is too classy a player to stay out of the runs for long and I am backing him to bounce back here.

BET: England to win at 17/20

These sides look evenly matched and I am backing the home team to set up a decider.

BET: Top Away Bowler, Hazlewood at 7/2

Hazlewood was excellent in the first ODI and given this is at the same ground we know will enjoy conditions.
