BettingDiaryThere are 2 English Premier League matches taking place on Monday and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

ASTON VILLA v SHEFFIELD UNITED – Click here to bet

Aston Villa make their first start of the new season, having narrowly avoided relegation last season thanks to a strong run over the last few matches.

Sheffield United play their second game of the campaign having gone down 2-0 at home to Wolves in their opener and early indications are they are going to battle to match their 9th place of last season. That loss was also their 4th successive League loss in a row.

Sheffield United won this fixture 2-0 last season and the reverse match ended goalless.

BETTING

Aston Villa 17/10

Draw 9/4

Sheffield United 18/10

Suggested Bet: Aston Villa win at 17/10

Sheffield United haven't really impressed me of late and Aston Villa can hit the ground running with 3 valuable away points.

WOLVES v MANCHESTER CITY – Click here to bet

Wolves opened their campaign with an impressive 2-0 away win at Sheffield United. They face Manchester City who finished a distant second to Liverpool last season and who make their first start of their new EPL campaign.

Wolves stunned Manchester City 3-2 at home when they met last season and they actually did the double over City having also beaten them 2-0 on the road.

BETTING

Wolves 21/4

Draw 7/2

Manchester City 5/10

Suggested Bet: The draw, Wolves (+1) at 27/10

For this bet to arrive I need Manchester City to win by 1 goal exactly. I do think they are set for a fast start to the new season, but in Wolves they face an opponent that has not only done the double over them last season, but has also started the new season off in great form. I think City will win this, but only by a goal.
