WSB Logo Orange 80x80F1 returns this weekend after a break as the grid heads to the Circuit of the Americas for the United States GP. We look at this weeks racing from a betting angle and share some plays.

Did the short break give Red Bull enough time to fix their problems or did it give McLaren a chance to extend the current performance gap?

CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE

Max Verstappen continues to lead the Championship on 331 points while Lando Norris has climbed up to 279 points. Charles Leclerc is sitting on 245 points while Oscar Piastri has 237 points. Previous Race (2024 Singapore GP)

McLaren had a brilliant weekend in Singapore. After Lando Norris qualified on pole and Oscar Piastri qualified 5th, Lando went on to win the race while Piastri climbed up the leaderboard and grabbed 3rd position and more points for his team. Red Bull on the other hand had a solid performance from Verstappen as he finished second while Sergio Perez finished 13th, not scoring any points.

United States GP 2023

Last years race saw Verstappen hold off Hamilton to win the race by 2.2 seconds. Although Hamilton finished 2nd on the track, he ended up being disqualified and so second place went to Lando Norris while Carlos Sainz was awarded with third.

VERDICT

Norris showed us in last years United States GP that even with a slower car when compared to this year, he was comfortable with the track, grabbing second place. This year he has a much better car and if he wants to win this years Drivers Championship, he can aim for nothing other than wins in the last few races. I think he gets the win here to keep the pressure on Verstappen and this bet comes with insurance for a 2nd place finish see the details below.

Suggested Bet: Lando Norris to win at 2.05.

Sergio Perez has not been in the run of form that Red Bull have expected from him and he is certainly capable of better. If Red Bull want to hold on to the Constructors Championship, they will need this seasoned professional to come to the party and I am betting on him coming back refreshed and to run into the top 6.

Suggested Bet: Sergio Perez top 6 finish at 2.50.
