BettingDiaryThe AFCON 2019 final is the highlight of Friday’s sporting action, but there are plenty of other options for punters to bet on and we take a look at some of them in our Daily Diary.

AFCON 2019 FINAL

Senegal are the narrow favourites to win the Cup in 90 minutes, trading at 17/10 with a draw at 37/20 and Algeria at 39/20.

Senegal saw off Tunisia 1-0 in their semi-final while Algeria overcame Nigeria 2-1.  This has been a very low scoring Tournament to date and in a game with even more pressure on I expect the trend to continue and will take under 1.5 goals at 5/4.

GOLF, THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

The Open Championship continues on Friday and at the time of writing Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka were going well amongst the early favourites while Rory Mcilroy had an absolute disaster shooting a +8 First Round.

There will be betting on a host of markets at the end of each day’s play and you can access the in running Outright Betting by clicking here.

CURRIE CUP

There are two Currie Cup matches taking place on Friday, the first of which is in Kimberley and features the Griquas against the Pumas.  Griquas started quickly with a victory over the Sharks last week and the Pumas came very close to defeating the Golden Lions.

There has been support for the Griquas during the week with the handicap shifting from (-6.5) to (-8.5) Total Points Lines will be available closer to kick off and we suspect that tries will flow on both sides and expect punters to steam in for the overs if the quote is close to 60 points.

The Blue Bulls play the Free State Cheetahs in the second match and they are (-6.5) points with the bookmakers on the handicap and 4/10 to win the match.  You can get 22/10 about the Cheetahs who play their first game of the season, but we are expecting the Bulls to have benefited by from their run out against Western Province last week and make them good things to beat the handicap of (-6.5).

TOUR DE FRANCE

It is “Race of Truth” time in the Tour de France with a 27 kilometre individual time trial taking place on Friday.  Geraint Thomas, the ruling favourite to win the Yellow Jersey is a 5/2 second favourite for the stage behind Wout Van Aert at 6/10.  He is expected to put distance between him and his likely competitors for Yellow.

One rider who catches the eye as far as betting value goes is Stefan Kung, a time trial specialist who has had a relatively quiet tour and could just spring a surprise at 18/1.
