BettingDiaryWorld Cup Rugby takes a break on Friday, but that does not mean there is no oval ball action to bet on and we take a closer look at the Pro 14 and Mitre10 action along with other sporting highlights in our Daily Diary.

SOCCER

Maritzburg United host Chippa United in the PSL on Friday night and both teams are currently struggling with Maritzburg United in 15th and Chippa just 2 positions and 2 points above them in 13th. Both teams are still searching for their first victory of the season.

The last 4 meetings between the sides have delivered for under 2.5 goal backers and the last 2 meetings between the pair at Maritzburg United have finished level and for that reason we feel that the draw at the current price of 39/20 is once again a big runner.

English Championship fans also have a televised match to look forward to on Friday with Stoke City up against Nottingham Forest. Stoke are 27/20 favourites with the draw on offer at 9/4 and Forest available at 22/10 at the time of writing.

Stoke are without a victory in their opening 8 matches and they have only got 2 points and sit 2nd from bottom of the table whereas Forest have won 3 of their last 4 and have climbed to 6th on the log. The 22/10 about a Nottingham Forest win will certainly have its supporters.

RUGBY

Tasman take on Auckland in the Mitre10 Cup on Friday morning and Tasman are (-13.5) points after what has been a very impressive season to date. The total points line has been set at 54.5 points and we think this game may get tactical at some point and fancy the under 54.5 points at 9/10

The Pro 14 gets going this weekend and the Cheetahs are 5/10 favourites to see off a depleted Glasgow side at home on Friday night. Glasgow who are missing a number of internationals and are 17/10 and the handicap is Cheetahs (-5.5), a line we wouldn’t be surprised to see shifting out further towards the double figure margin.

CRICKET

The Caribbean Premier League continues and you can click here for betting, but our focus tomorrow is on the 1st ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka where Pakistan are trading at 2/9 and Sri Lanka at 33/10. As always in these ODI matches there are a host of markets including Top Away Batsman, Top Home Batsman and most Match Sixes where Pakistan are trading very short at 9/20 and we think there could be some value in the Sri Lanka price of 5/2.

HORSERACING

Local horse racing takes place at the Fairview Polytrack with the 8 race card getting started at 12:30 and scheduled to finish at 16:42.

We think the hot favourite in the 4th race, No. 4 Blushing Bride, will be hard to beat at the current price at 9/10 and further down the card we like the chances of 7 year old Shogun, Horse No. 3 in the 6th race currently priced at 4/1.
