BettingDiarySports fans are in for a busy weekend with Rugby Championship and English Premier League action amongst the sporting opportunities to bet on.

RUGBY

Rugby Championship takes centre stage on Saturday as this year’s shortened version concludes.

First up it is Australia against New Zealand in Perth and here the handicap has shifted from Australia (+10.5) to Australia (+11.5).  New Zealand will be hunting a bonus point to put South Africa under pressure and this should be a match played at a very high intensity.  A bet we fancy is alternative winning margin where you can get the All Blacks to win by 11/20 points inclusive at 28/10.

The Boks play Argentina in Salta and this handicap has been hovering between Argentina (+5.5) and Argentina (+7.5) all week.  The current line is Argentina (+6.5) and as suggested in one of our earlier diaries we do think it is going to be a close game, but think the Springboks will have what it takes to win.  The Boks to win by under 12.5 points is currently priced at 15/10 and if you are looking for a slightly bigger price without giving too much away in terms of points, the 1-10 winning margin is 22/10.

The Currie Cup continues on Saturday with two matches, the Sharks against the Free State and the Golden Lions against the Blue Bulls.

The Free State are favourites in Durban at (-4.5) and in Johannesburg it is the home team, the Golden Lions that are favourites with the points handicap of (-7.5).

FOOTBALL

Manchester City swing into action at 13h30 on Saturday, South African time when they are away to West Ham United, a game where they are 1/4 to win.  There are 6 games on Saturday and 3 on Sunday including Newcastle against Arsenal where the Gunners are 7/20 to open their campaign with a victory and the big clash of the weekend, Manchester United v Chelsea.  United have been trimmed from 12/10 to 11/10 with the draw 5/2 and Chelsea 5/2.  This looks like being a very tight game and we quite fancy United to win by exactly 1 goal at just under 3/1.

There are 4 PSL matches taking place over Saturday and Sunday and the late kick-off on Saturday sees Kaizer Chiefs 15/20 to beat Black Leopards at home.  Given their performance in the opening week, it looks a fairly solid bet.

HORSE RACING

Local Horse Racing takes place at Turffontein and Kenilworth on Saturday with Turffontein getting going at 12h20 and finishing at 17h10 with the 9th and final race and Kenilworth at 13h15, finishing with the 8th race scheduled 17h25.

It is the 4th race at Kenilworth where we have our fancy for Saturday, No. 8, Over the Odds trained by Justin Snaith, currently priced at 16/10.

Sunday’s racing is at Greyville and it is an 8 race card starting at 12h30 and scheduled to finish at 16h40.  The 5th race takes place over 1600 metres and looks competitive and we have a slight fancy for the Denis Drier trained Driven Force, No. 3 on the card and currently priced at 33/10
