BettingDiaryThere are opportunities a plenty for punters to get involved in this weekend and we take a look at a few of the highlights in our Weekend Betting Diary.

RUGBY WORLD CUP

There are 3 matches on Saturday and 2 matches on Sunday and the game of the weekend is surely Australia against Wales where Wales are 8/10 to win the match, Australia 12/10 and the draw at 25/1.

These sides historically play out some very close games and we expect this one to be no different and if you enjoy speculative plays at long odds then the draw at 25/1 could give you a run for your money.

Of course, South African interest will be focused on the game against Namibia on Saturday where the handicap is very high at South Africa (-58.5). There are plenty of other markets to get involved in though and you can click here for all betting on the game.

FORMULA ONE

The Russian Grand Prix takes place on Sunday and Lewis Hamilton is an 18/10 favourite just pipping Charles Leclerc who is 19/10 in the early betting. Sebastian Vettel can be backed at 7/2 with Valtteri Bottas at 5/1 and you can get 16/1 and better the balance. There are a host of markets available on the Russian Grand Prix including whether a rider will finish in the Top 6 or what the winning margin will be and which rider will get the fastest lap.

CYCLING

The World Championship Road Race for Men takes place on Sunday in Yorkshire and it promises to be a thrilling race most likely ridden in poor conditions.

Mathieu Van Der Poel has absolutely burst on to the Cycling scene this year and the youngster is a 5/2 favourite to win the race ahead of multiple World Champion and Tour de France Green Jersey winner, Peter Sagan, who is 9/2. A popular Frenchman, Julian Alaphilippe can be backed at 15/2 and you can get 12/1 and better the balance. From what we have seen of Van Der Poel he is going to be very hard to beat, but at this price over such a long race in poor conditions it may be worth looking down the field for betting value.
