BettingDiaryStage 3 of the Tour de France starts in Nice finishing in Sisteron and covers 198 kilometres. We take a look at the stage from a betting perspective.

Stage 2 Wrap

Although there were two big climbs on stage 2, the classification candidates did not attack each other preferring to keep their powder dry for later in the Tour. That doesn’t mean we didn’t get action though and we were treated to a thrilling finish with pre-stage favourite, Alaphilippe winning a 3 man sprint to take the stage as well as the Yellow Jersey.

There were no major casualties as far as the contenders for the Yellow Jersey goes, but at the same time, Jumbo and Ineos weren’t as dominated as we perhaps expected and this is a good sign for what should be an exciting 19 stages that will follow.

Looking at the Outright Betting there is very little change and Roglic still retains favouritism ahead of Bernal.

Stage 3 Verdict

After such a tough start to the tour in terms of conditions and profile it could be dangerous to underestimate what this stage might have in store but it does look like an opportunity for the sprinters.

Of the two market leaders Caleb Ewan has lost a couple of team mates and was also behind Sam Bennett on Stage 1. That was a chaotic stage but Bennett is taken to come out on top.

Stage 3 Bet: Sam Bennett to win at 3/1
