CitizenBlogLevel 4 of Lockdown may have brought some relief as far as exercise goes, but from a Sports Betting perspective the road ahead is still very murky. As things stand, you have to choose between betting on some fairly obscure leagues, playing some of the betting games available or rather just shutting up shop.

I popped on to the World Sports Betting website to see if there was anything that caught my eye and the types of markets I found are certainly a sign of the times. Sure, you can still bet on the T20 Cricket World Cup and who is going to win with Australia trading as 5/2 favourites, India 7/2, England 4/1, New Zealand 15/2 with South Africa and the West Indies both at 8/1, but you can also get a bet on whether or not the World Cup will begin on the 18th October 2020. I never thought I would see the day bookmakers priced up on this and if you are an optimist you can get 16/10 that it will proceed on schedule and there is 9/20 that it won’t start on time.

F1 fans or punters can bet on whether the British F1 Grand Prix will take place on the 19th July 2020 and here the Bookies favour the fact that it may go ahead pricing “YES” at 15/20 with “NO” priced at 19/20.

English Premier League fans must really be hoping for some good news soon, but according to World Sports Betting any action being seen in May is 25/1 with June priced at 21/20 and July 2020 or later at 7/10.

Scanning through their Special Markets I found something not related to COVID-19 and that is who is going to win the US Elections later this year. Current President Donald Trump is a 17/20 favourite ahead of his Democratic rival, Joe Biden who is 13/10 and you can get 22/1 and better the balance. I would have to say that from what I have seen so far Trump looks a good thing at 17/20, a far cry from the 50/1 he was trading at some four and a half years ago.

For the first time in this lockdown I am starting to feel really frustrated about the lack of sport and hopefully we will have something to punt on soon.

Stay strong and be positive!
