cobrast20The first match in the Momentum One Day Cup comes from Boland Park, Paarl on Friday where the WSB Cape Cobras host the Warriors.

Cobras:

In last years MODC the Cobras finished second on the log at the end of the round robin stage with an overall record c of 7 wins and 3 defeats but they crashed out at the semi final stage at home to the Dolphins.

The Cobras had a good 4-day franchise tournament which concluded recently, harrowingly missing out on the title after winning 6 of 10 matches with 2 draws and 2 defeats.

Warriors:

In the round robin stage last season the Warriors claimed the last of the play off berths, finishing fourth with a record of 4 wins and 6 defeats. They went on to upset the Titans in Centurion in the semi finals to set up a final with the Dolphins in Durban. The Warriors had the Dolphins in trouble in that final when the rain arrived to end play and the reserve day was also washed out so the teams shared the trophy.

In this season’s 4-day franchise series the Warriors finished third in the standings with a record of 3 wins, 3 draws and 4 defeats.

Verdict:

At the time of writing team news and betting were pretty thin on the ground but the promotion offered by WSB, the Cobras sponsors, did take my eye and a home win with insurance from the promo gets the vote.

Bet: Cobras to win the game.at 6/10
