Delhi Capitals were at home to Mumbai Indians on Thursday and they went down by 40 runs. Mumbai posted 168/5 on a slow and low surface with Delhi spinners Mishra (1/18) and Axar Patel (1/17) the pick of their bowlers. Delhi put on 49 for the opening wicket in the chase but then fell away and their innings closed on 128/9.
Delhi now have an overall record of 5 wins and 4 defeats but on a cautionary note 4 of those wins came on their travels. Earlier results In Delhi saw the Capitals lose to CSK (6 wickets) and the Sunrisers (5 wickets) but they did beat the Knight Riders here in a Super Over.
Kings XI Punjab
Kings XI were 12 runs too good for Rajasthan Royals in a home fixture last time out. They defended 182/6 (Rahul 52) with Ravi Ashwin (1/24) and Muragan (1/24) throttling a Royals chase which had looked promising.
KXP now have 5 wins and 4 defeats against their name but 4 of those victories came in Mohali and their only success in 4 away fixtures also came against the Royals by a 14 run margin in Match 4. Since then they have lost at KKR (28 runs), at CSK (22 runs) and Mumbai (3 wickets).

The teams met in Mohali in Match 13 and the Kings XI came out on top by 14 runs. David Millers 43 was the top score in KXP’s bat first total of 166/9. At 144/3 in 16.4 overs of the chase Delhi were heading for victory but they collapsed in dramatic fashion, finishing 152 all out with KXP’s Sam Curran claiming a hat-trick in his figures of 4/11 (2.2 overs).
