dc2019The Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians are both in excellent form as they prepare to meet in Match 34 of the IPL on Thursday

Delhi Capitals

Delhi reeled off a third successive win when they proved 39 runs too good for the Sunrisers in Hyderabad on Sunday. Delhi posted 155/7 batting first (Iyer 45, Munro 40) but that didn’t look enough as the Sunrisers put on 72 for the first wicket. Delhi had other ideas and Rabada (4/22), Morris (3/22) and Keemo Paul (3/17) turned the match on its head to bowl the Sunrisers out for 116.

That win give Delhi an overall record of 5 wins and 3 defeats but on a cautionary note 4 of those wins came on their travels. In Delhi the Capitals have lost to CSK (6 wickets) and the first meeting with the Sunrisers (5 wickets) but they did beat the Knight Riders here in a Super Over.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians also have a record of 5 wins and 3 defeats. On Monday they chased down RCB’s bat first total of 171/7 in a home fixture with 40 from Quinton de Kock at the start and a quickfire 37 from Hardik Pandya at the death seeing them home for a 5 wicket win with an over to spare.

Mumbai have now won 4 of their last 5 and their away record comprises of wins at RCB (6 runs) and the Sunrisers (40 runs) either side of an 8 wicket defeat at the Kings XI.

Head to Head

Matches 23, Mumbai Indians wins 11, Delhi wins 12

The teams met early in the tournament in Mumbai and Delhi came out on top by 37 runs. Batting first Delhi piled on 213/6 with Dhawan making 43, Ingram 47 and Risabh Pant smashed 78 off just 27 balls including 7 of his sides 11 maximums. Rabada (2/24) was the pick of the Delhi bowlers as Mumbai were bowled out for 176.

Last season Delhi also won both meetings, coming out on top by 7 wickets in Mumbai and 11 runs in Delhi.

Betting Angle

There are question marks against Delhi in terms of their home form with their bowling unit seemingly more dangerous away from what has been a slow and low surface. However the Capitals should be full of themselves right now, they have already turned Mumbai over once this season and they might just go in again.
