dc2019The first of Sunday’s matches in the IPL sees high flying Delhi Capitals take on the rapidly improving Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 46.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi have had a break since they saw off the Royals by 6 wickets in Jaipur on Monday. Tasked with chasing a hefty looking target of 192 for victory Delhi openers Shaw (42) and Dhawan (54) got the Capitals off to a perfect start before Pant smashed an unbeaten 78 off just 36 balls and Delhi got up with 4 balls to spare.

Delhi have now won 5 of their last 6 and their overall record of 7 wins and 4 defeats puts them well on course for one of the play off places.

The Capitals home record still has scope for improvement. They have won just twice on home turf, 1 of those wins coming in a Super Over and 3 visiting teams have beaten them in Delhi this season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

AB de Villiers was in terrific form for RCB at home to the Kings XI on Wednesday. RCB came through with a 17 run victory with de Villiers smashing 82 not out of a bat first total of 202/4. Kings Xi made a promising start to the chase but some excellent death bowling saw RCB take crucial late wickets to secure a third successive win.

After losing their first 6 matches RCB now have a record of 4 wins and 7 defeats but they remain bottom of the standings and really need to win all 3 remaining matches to stand a chance of gatecrashing the playoffs. .

RCB have won twice away from home this season, at the Kings XI (8 wickets) and the Knight Riders (10 runs)

Head to Head

Matches 23, RCB wins 14, Delhi wins 7, 1 tie (RCB won Super Over) and 1 no result

When the teams met in Bangalore in Match 20 Delhi came out on top by 4 wickets. RCB posted a well below par 149/8 (Kohli 41) with Rabada returning figures of 4/21. In the chase Shreyas Iyer top scored for Delhi with 67 and the Capitals gut up with 7 balls to spare.

Betting Angle

Both teams are in good form and that is reflected in the betting market. Delhi’s home form would have to be a concern and we swerve the match result in favour of a Player Performance pick.

Points are awarded on the following basis, 1 point per run, 20 points per wicket, 10 points per catch, 25 points per stumping and we fancy Pant can beat his current quote.

Bet: Player Performance, Rr Pant Over 39.5 at 17/20
