dolphinst20Saturday’s action in the CSA T20 comes from Kingsmead, Durban where the Dolphins open their campaign at home to the Knights.

Dolphins:

The Dolphins finished as runners up to the Titans in the recently concluded Momentum One Day Cup and they now bid to go one better in the T20 format after also claiming second prize last season. Their previous domestic T20 tournament was hampered by rain with no result possible in 5 of their 10 round robin matches but they did win 3 of the other 5 which saw them finish second in the standings. In the semi finals the Dolphins game with the WSB Cape Cobras was washed out but the Dolphins advanced to the final with a better record in the round robin. They came up against the Titans in the final at this venue where they were beaten by 7 wickets.

Knights:

The Knights missed out on the play offs in the One Day Cup last month, finishing fifth on the log with a record 3 wins, 5 defeats and 2 no results.

In last season’s T20 Challenge the Knights also found it tough going, winning just 2 of their 10 matches with 5 defeats and 3 no results and they finished with the wooden spoon.

Recent Head to Head

No play was possible in the corresponding fixture last season but when the teams met in Bloemfontein later in the tournament the Dolphins ran out winners by 6 wickets

Verdict:

We go with the Dolphins to make a winning start. They were on the wrong end of some controversial decisions in the MODC final and this looks like a good opportunity to get off to a flyer in the T20’s.

Suggested Bet: Pre-match handicap, Dolphins -2.5 Wkts \ -6.5 Runs at 8/10
