England's only win came against Bangladesh in their second outing. They were thumped by New Zealand by 9 wickets and humbled by Afghanistan by 69 runs before crashing to a record 229 run defeat to South Africa and an 8 wicket defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka.

Australia
After losing their first 2 matches to India (by 6 wickets) and South Africa (134 runs) Australia have reeled off 4 successive wins and look a solid proposition for a semi final place.
They were involved in a nail biter last time out against New Zealand which they won by 5 runs. Batting first Australia posted a very healthy 388 all out in 49.2 overs with opening pair Warner (81) and Travis Head (109) doing most of the damage. New Zealand stayed in the chase but 3 wickets for Zampa and 2 each for Hazlewood and Cummins helped the Aussies hold on.
The Australia recovery had started with a 5 wicket win over Sri Lanka and continued with a 62 run victory over Pakistan before they thrashed the Netherlands by 309 runs.
After this Australia will face Afghanistan and finally Bangladesh

Head to Head
Overall the teams have met 155 times with England winning 63 to Australia's 87 with 2 ties and 3 no results
The teams last met in a 3 match series in Australia in November 2022 and Australia won it 3-0
In CWC 2019 Australia won a pool stage match by 64 runs but when the teams met again in semi finals England won by 8 wickets.
The Betting
England are currently trading at around 5/4 to win the game and Australia can be backed at around 0.57/1
Note all prices are correct at the time of writing but are subject to change
The Verdict
Australia will miss 2 big guns but when Travis Head is firing he has a hard man to stop and he gets the vote to be to score a 50
After a shocking tournament England might give Harry Brook a go and he is a speculative choice to be top England batsmen.
Bets: To Score a 50 Travis Head (yes) at 14/10 with Pokerbet
Top England Run Scorer Harry Brook at 6/1 with Pokerbet
