knightst20Friday’s televised action in the Ram Slam T20 Challenge comes from Bloemfontein where the Knights host the Hollywoodbets Dolphins

The Knights slipped out of the play off places when they were beaten by 5 runs by the Cobras in Kimberley on Wednesday. They restricted the Cobras to 156/9 but fell short in the chase despite the efforts of David Miller who top scored with 59.

The Knights are now fifth on the log with a record of 2 wins, 4 defeats and 2 no results and boith their wins this season came home and away to the Warriors, the only side below them in the standings.

After this the Knights will finish the round robin stage away at the Lions and it could be that there will only be room for no more than one of those sides in the semi finals.

Miller (277 runs, 7 innings) and de Bryn (210, 7 innings continue to lead the run scoring charts for the Knights whilst van Scchalkwyk is now leading wicket taker in the tournament with 11.

Frustration continued for the Dolphins on Wednesday as their scheduled home fixture against the Lions was washed out. Prior to that the Dolphins lost a thriller away to the Warriors on Sunday, going down by 1 run in Port Elizabeth. They are 1 of 2 teams on 14 points, 4 behind the second placed Cobras and their tournament has been dominated by rain affected matches. Since beating the Cobras by 15 runs (D/L) in their first action of the tournament no result has been possible in 5 of their subsequent outings with a 6 wicket loss away to the Lions and last Sunday’s defeat to the Warriors being the other completed games.

After this the Dolphins host the Titans on Sunday.

With so many matches affected by rain, Erwee (119) is still the joint top Dolphins run getter and 103 of those came in their opening round win over the Cobras Morne van Wyk also has 119 runs from 4 innings. Frylinck has 5 wickets for the Dolphins bowlers having bowled just 14 overs.

The first meeting between the sides this season was washed out without a ball being bowled.

The Betting, to win the match

Knights 9/10

Dolphins 9/10

Note prices quoted are an average of what was available at the time of writing but are subject to change

Once again this looks a tricky match to call with the Knights only having enjoyed success against the Warriors whilst the Dolphins are battling to get a game.

I’ll go with Miller to top score for the Knights.

Bet: Top Knights Bat, Miller, 2/1
