The second of Sunday’s matches in the IPL sees Kolkata Knight Riders host Mumbai Indians in Match 47 and the home side are bidding to end a nightmare run of results.

The Knight Riders lost at home to Rajasthan Royals by 3 wickets on Thursday and it’s hard to believe that was their sixth successive defeat. An unbeaten 97 from Dinesh Karthik helped KKR post175/6 batting first and the Royals chased it down with 4 balls to spare.
After winning 4 of their first 5 which included a defeat in a Super Over, KKR’s season has fallen off the rails and they come into this game with a record of 4 wins and 7 defeats. In Kolkata the Knight Riders have won 2 and lost 4 and if they lose here it will surely end any hopes of a play off spot.
Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians took on the Super Kings in Chennai on Friday and they came away with an impressive 46 run victory. Batting first Mumbai made 155/4 with Rohit Sharma’s 67 the stand out individual score. Mumbai’s bowlers had CSK in early trouble and they never let go as the Super Kings were bowled out for 109. Malinga took 4 wickets and Krunal Pandya (2/7, 3 overs) and Bumrah (2/10, 3 overs) were in superb form.
It was an important win for Mumbai who now have a record of 7 wins and 4 defeats.
Earlier results away from home include a 5 wicket defeat at the Royals and wins at RCB (6 runs) and the Sunrisers (40 runs) either side of an 8 wicket loss at the Kings XI.
