lionst20Monday’s televised action in the CSA T20 Challenge sees the Lions take on the Dolphins at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom

Lions:

The Lions most recent match saw them visit the Knights in Kimberley on Saturday but bad weather was again a factor and the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The Lions now have an overall record of 3 wins, 1 defeat and 2 no results and they are running neck and neck with the Cobras at the top of the standings although only 4 points covers the top 4 sides.

In earlier home games the Lions lost to the Cobras by 5 runs at the Wanderers in their first outing. They completed a comfortable 40 run victory over the Knights at this venue and most recently they toppled the Titans by 19 runs back at The Wanderers.

This was how the Lions lined up in their previous completed match.

Temba Bavuma (capt), Bjorn Fortuin, Beuren Hendricks, Reeza Hendricks, Wihan Lubbe, Wian Mulder, Aaron Phangiso, Dwayne Pretorius, Ryan Rickleton, Malusi Siboto, Rassie van der Dussen.

Dolphins:

The Dolphins hosted the Titans in Maritzburg on Saturday and despite posting a healthy looking 185/4 first up, they crashed to an 8 wicket defeat. Morne van Wyk (55) and Cody Chetty (56) top scored the Dolphins but their bowling attack was taken apart by the Titans who got home with 7 balls to spare.

The weekend defeat leaves the Dolphins in fifth place, 9 points behind the Lions with a record of 1 win, 3 defeats and 2 no results. That sole success came in Durban against the Knights in what was their first action of the tournament.

This was how the Dolphins lined up against the Titans last time out:

Sarel Erwee, Morne van Wyk(w), Cody Chetty, Khaya Zondo(c), Marques Ackerman, Andile Phehlukwayo, Sibonelo Makhanya, Robbie Frylinck, Keshav Maharaj, Prenelan Subrayen, Daryn Dupavillon.

Verdict:

This looks a really tough but not impossible task for the Dolphins who really need a victory to get back in the mix for a play off spot. They will need to keep the likes of Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen as quiet as possible to land what is a speculative selection.

Suggested Bet: Dolphins to win at 27/20
