lionst20Thursday’s televised action in the CSA T20 Challenge sees the Lions take on the Titans at the Wanderers.

Lions:

The Lions come into the game with a record of 2 wins, 1 defeat and 1 no result. Their visit to the Warriors in East London at the weekend was abandoned with the Warriors going strong on 155/8 in the 19th over whilst earlier in the tournament the Lions had butchered a run chase to come up 5 runs short of the Cobras before getting the better of the Dolphins in Durban by 18 runs and the Knights in Potch by 40 runs.

This was how the Lions lined up away to the Warriors at the weekend.

Temba Bavuma (capt), Bjorn Fortuin, Beuren Hendricks, Reeza Hendricks, Wihan Lubbe, Wian Mulder, Aaron Phangiso, Dwayne Pretorius, Ryan Rickleton, Malusi Siboto, Rassie van der Dussen.

Titans:

The weather also had the final say in the Titans weekend fixture away to the Knights in Kimberley. The Titans were 136/4 17 overs into the game when the rain came and the players never returned to the field.

Rain was also a factor earlier in the tournament for the Titans. Despite posting 216/5 in a full 20 overs at home to the Warriors first time out, stoppages saw the Warriors 4 runs ahead on DLS 6 overs into their reply. The Titans did beat the Cobras by 7 wickets in Benoni next time out before another home fixture against the Dolphins was completely washed out.

This was how the Titans lined up at the weekend:

Henry Davids, Tony de Zorzi, Theunis de Bruyn, Diego Rosier, Grant Thomson, Farhaan Behardien (capt), Rubin Hermann (wk), Eldred Hawken, Junior Dala, Shaun von Berg, Gregory Mahlokwana

Verdict:

We have 2 powerful sides on view here and slight preference is for the Lions to come out on top. Had they not choked against the WSB Cape Cobras first time out they would be unbeaten and they have had a bit more cricket than the Titans in the first half of the tournament.

Suggested Bet: Lions to win at 19/20
