rcb2019The second of Sunday’s IPL games sees Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Chennai Super Kings in Match 39

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB were away to the Knight Riders on Friday and they came out on top by 10 runs in what was a thrilling contest. There was no AB de Villiers for RCB but Kohli’s 100 and a quickfire 66 from Moeen Ali propelled RCB to a bat first total of 213/4. KKR looked doomed at 79/4 in 11.5 overs but Nitish Rana (85 off 46) and Andre Russell (65 off 25) gave it a real go only to come just short.

RCB now have a record of 2 wins alongside 7 defeats and at the time of writing they were bottom of the log. Their only other victory this season was an impressive 8 wicket win away at the Kings XI

Chennai Super Kings

The Super Kings tasted defeat for only the second time this season when they went down by 6 wickets away to the Sunrisers in their most recent outing on Wednesday. Despite a 79 run opening partnership by Watson (31) and du Plessis (45) CSK were restricted to 132/5 and the Sunrisers chased it down with 3.1 overs to spare. The only other defeat for CSK also came away from home, in Mumbai (37 runs) in Match 15. Their 7 other matches this season all ended in victory, 3 of which came away from home.

Betting Angle

RCB’s 2 wins have come in the last 3 matches and they are starting to find some runs. They have no margin for error if they are to launch what would seem an unlikely play off bid after a horrible start to the tournament but they could be dangerous here.

Any batsmen to score 70 or more runs is the pick.
