The Chennai Super Kings bandwagon rolls into Hyderabad on Wednesday when they take on the Sunrisers in Match 33 of the IPL.

It’s been a strange first half of the tournament for the Sunrisers. Although they lost their first outing they went on to reel off 3 successive wins and at that time looked to be the team to beat. However they haven’t sustained anything like that sort of form and a 39 run home defeat to Delhi Capitals on Sunday was their third straight loss.
Sunday’s defeat was a disaster for the Sunrisers who were 72 without loss chasing 156 for victory. They collapsed in spectacular fashion after openers Warner (51) and Bairtsow (41) were dismissed and their innings folded on 116 all out in 18.5 overs.
The Sunrisers now have an overall record of 3 wins and 4 defeats. They won their first 2 home games of the tournament, seeing off the Royals by 5 wickets and RCB by 118 runs but they did lose at home to Mumbai by 40 runs before the tame surrender to Delhi at the weekend.

Consistency appears to be no problem at all for CSK who came through their visit to the Knight Riders on Sunday with a 5 wicket win. Imran Tahir’s 4/27 helped restrict KKR to 161/8 and Suresh Raina top scored with 58 in the chase whilst Jadeja hit 31 off 17 at the end as CSK got up with 2 balls to spare.
CSK continue to top the log with 7 wins from their 8 outings and their only defeat came in Mumbai (37 runs) in Match 15

This will be the first clash between these sides this season. They met 4 times in 2018 and in the round robin stage the Super Kings won by 4 runs in Hyderabad and 8 wickets in Pune.
In the play offs the Super Kings won by 2 wickets in Mumbai and when they met again in the final at the same ground CSK confirmed their dominance with an 8 wicket victory.
