warriorst20Friday’s televised action in the CSA T20 Challenge comes from Boland Park, Paarl where the WSB Cape Cobras take on the Warriors.

WSB Cape Cobras:

This is the first home game for the WSB Cape Cobras who return from Gauteng with 1 victory and 1 defeat against their name. The Cobras campaign got off on the right note with a hard earned 5 run win over the Lions at The Wanderers last weekend. The Cobras posted 169/8 batting first in that game and although the Lions were well and truly on course to chase it down, Dane Paterson conceded just 2 runs off the final over with 3 wickets falling in the process.

On Wednesday the Cobras took on a powerful Titans side in Benoni. They batted first again and posted 150/6 with the unlucky Kyle Verreynne having to retire hurt when unbeaten on 44. This time the Cobras bowlers couldn’t defend the total and the Titans got up in just 15.4 overs for a 7 wicket win.

This was how the Cobras lined up against the Titans last time out:

Janneman Malan, Hashim Amla, David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne (wk), Simon Khomari, George Linde, Aviwe Mgijima, Vernon Philander, Rory Kleinveldt (capt), Dane Paterson, Tladi Bokako.

Warriors:

The Warriors bid to make it 2 wins from 2 was quashed by a wet outfield as their scheduled clash with the Knights in Kimberley on Tuesday was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Last weekend the Warriors travelled to take on a powerful Titans side in their opening match and things didn’t look good as the Titans piled on 216/5 batting first with Lutho Sipamla (2/32) and Jon-Jon Smuts (2-34) faring best of the Warriors attack.

The target was initially reduced to 200 off 18 overs and the Warriors were 60 without loss after 6 overs when play was halted for the final time. The Warriors were 4 runs ahead on the revised DLS calculation, thanks largely to Gihahn Cloete’s 46 off just 25 balls.

This was how the Warriors lined up in their opening match.

Gihahn Cloete, Marco Marais, Matthew Breetzke, Jon-Jon Smuts (capt), Sinethemba Qeshile (wk), Lesiba Ngoepe, Onke Nyaku, Jade de Klerk, Sisanda Magala, Andrew Birch, Lutho Sipamla

Verdict:

The Warriors often revel in the role of underdog and the Cobras will have to be on their game here. There are also 2 other matches taking place on Friday, the Lions are trading around 11/20 for their home fixture against the Knights and the Titans can be backed at around 6/10 for their home game against the Dolphins.

We go with all 3 favourites to win in a multiple bet.

Suggested Bet: Multiple, Cobras / Lions / Titans all to win at around 31/10
