Stage 11 of Tour de France 2017 takes place on Wednesday 12th July a 203.5km trek starting at Eymet and finishing at Pau
Jersey Update:
After a rest day Tuesday’s stage was a sprint and Marcel Kittel chalked up a fourth win of the tour, finishing well clear of Degenkolb and Groenewegen. There were no changes in the GC who had a straight forward day.
GC Classification:
Froome
Aru @18
Bardet @51
Uran @55
Points Classification:
Kittel 275
Matthews 173
Greipel 150
Kristoff 140
Stage Profile
We head to the Pyrenees with this flat stage which has just one Cat 4 climb about three quarters of the way through. The profile rises gradually in the second half of the stage before we drop down towards Pau. Breakaway contenders will have a cross by this one but it could be another day for the sprinters.
Stage 11 Betting - Winner
Kittel 4/6
Greipel 7/1
Groenewegen 11/1
Kristoff 12/1
Degenkolb 14/1
Boasson Hagen 18/1
Note, prices are an early show, approx average at the time of writing and are subject to change.
Analysis
Although it looks likely to be another stage for the sprinters a quality break might well stand some sort of chance here. The stage is longer than Tuesday’s and the steady rise from some way out will have teams of the sprinters having to dig deeper to bring the race back together.
Opposing Kittel has proved fruitless so rather than take him on with a rival sprinter I’ll look to a hugely speculative play on BMC’s Stefan Kung to try and pinch it, either from the break or an opportunist solo.
Bets: Stefan Kung at 125/1
