football.brentfordBrentford and Swansea bid to reach the EFL Championship Play Off Final on Wednesday and coming into the semi final second leg Swansea have a narrow lead.

The first leg of this play off took place on Sunday and Swansea came out on top 1-0 thanks to Andre Ayew's 81st minute goal. Brentford, who had their chances in the first half, played with 10 men from the 65th minute onwards but they couldn't hold out.

In the regular season Brentford finished third in the standings, missing out on automatic promotion by just 2 points after surprise defeats in their last 2 matches, at Stoke and at home to Barnsley. They had reeled off 8 straight wins prior to that, 7 of which came straight after the season was re-started

Swansea squeezed into the play offs on the final day of the regular season with a 4-1 win at Reading which saw them grab the last remaining place on goal difference. They finished all of 11 points behind Brentford and their goal difference was +9 compared to Brentford's impressive tally of +42.

Head to Head

Brentford had completed a league double over Swansea in the regular season, winning 3-0 in Wales in October and 3-1 on home turf in the return on Boxing Day.

The Betting

In the early betting Brentford are 13/20 to win the game in 90 minutes with the draw at 29/10 and Swansea can be backed at 17/4. A game of 3 goals or more in total (regulation time) is 8/10 and its 17/20 for both sides to find the net.

The Verdict.

This will be the last ever game at Brentford's Griffin Park with the club moving to a new home. It would be some story if they were to overturn this deficit and then win the final but they are going to have to put the disappointment of the last 2 matches plus the first leg behind them.

I'm open minded about the eventual outcome but I can see Brentford building up a real head of steam and I doubt they will fail to score. Ollie Watkins is a much talked about striker, he has 25 league goals to his name this season and I fancy he will add to that tally on Wednesday.

Bet: Anytime Goalscorer Ollie Watkins at 11/10 .
