Goodforthegame Predictions:

Crystal Palace v Arsenal (Saturday 11th January)

Saturday's early kick off is a London derby at Selhurst Park and coming into the game Palace are 1 point and 1 place better off than Arsenal in the standings. Palace have drawn 4 of their last 6 matches alongside a home win over West Ham and a defeat at Newcastle. They have won 4, drawn 3 and lost 3 of their home games and those 3 defeats came against Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester.

Mikel Arteta will be encouraged by Arsenal's improvement in his 3 games in charge. The new coach started with a draw at Bournemouth followed by a defeat to Chelsea, a game the Gunners led until late on, and most recently they were 2-0 winners at home to Manchester United. Arsenal have won just twice away from home, they look a stronger proposition than when they drew 2-2 with Palace earlier in the season but they might have to settle for a point again.

Prediction: Palace 1-1 Arsenal

Chelsea v Burnley (Saturday 11th January)

Fourth placed Chelsea have been inconsistent of late and their home form is erratic with the likes of Southampton, Bournemouth and West Ham all having won at Stamford Bridge since the tail end of November.

Burnley come into the game on the back of 3 successive defeats and goals are increasingly hard to come by. They are still 4 points clear of the drop zone but their 2 away wins came at strugglers Bournemouth and Watford.

Chelsea won the first meeting this season 4-2 at Turf Moor.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-1

Man United v Norwich (Saturday 11th January)

United are another side battling for consistency and over Christmas and New Year they won 2 and lost 2. Their home record comprises of 5 wins, 4 draws and just the 1 defeat and alarm bells will be ringing if they don't win here.

Norwich are bottom of the table and 7 points from safety. They did take a surprise point from a fairly recent visit to Leicester but 7 of 10 road trips have ended in defeat.

United were 3-1 winners when the teams met at Carrow Road earlier in the season.

Prediction: Man United 2-0 Norwich

Leicester v Southampton (Saturday 11th January)

Leicester have recovered from losing to Manchester City and Liverpool over Xmas and they remain in second spot in the standings. They have won 7 of 10 home games, alongside draws with Wolves and Norwich and the 4-0 hiding at the hands of Liverpool is their only defeat in front of their own supporters.

Southampton have taken 10 points from the last 12 available to climb away from the bottom 3. That represents their best form of the season and they now face the team who thumped them 9-0 at St. Mary's earlier in the campaign. The Saints have done well to put that drubbing behind them, expect this to be much closer.

Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Southampton

Spurs v Liverpool (Saturday 11th January)

Spurs have won just 1 of their last 4 and are now six points behind fourth place Chelsea. They have won 6, drawn 2 and lost 2 of 10 home games and now face the champions elect.

Liverpool's march towards the title continues, they broke the calender year without defeat barrier in new year and have a lead of 13 points with 1 game in hand. The 1-1 draw at Manchester United in October is the only league game where they have dropped points and they were 2-1 winners when the teams met at Anfield earlier in the season.

Prediction: Spurs 1-2 Liverpool

Aston Villa v Manchester City (Sunday 12th January)

Villa had 4 big league games over Christmas and New Year and fortunes were mixed. They won at home to Norwich (1-0) and away at Burnley (2-1) either side of defeats at home to Southampton (3-1) and at Watford (3-0). Villa were fourth from bottom at the time of writing, just 1 point clear of third bottom Bournemouth.

City look sure to relinquish their Premier League title but their overall form is holding up. At the weekend they were 4-1 winners at home to League 2 side Port Vale in the FA Cup and in midweek they beat Manchester United 3-1 away from home in the EFL Cup semi final first leg. Over the festive period City won 3 of 4 league games. They were most impressive in beating Leicester (3-1) in a home fixture before going down 3-2 at Wolves. More recently they completed back to back home wins over Sheffield United (2-0) and Everton (2-1).

City coasted to a 3-0 win when the teams met in Manchester earlier in the campaign.

Prediction: Aston Villa 1-3 Man City
