wolves1819Two English Premier League matches take place on Monday night and we take at look at the betting for Burnley v Crystal Palace and Wolves v Southampton

Burnley 17/10, Draw 21/10, Crystal Palace 19/10

Burnley are desperate to get their season going. After 7 matches they have just 2 draws (alongside 5 defeats) against their name and goals are in short supply with just 3 registered so far. Their points came from visits to West Brom (0-0) and Brighton (1-1) whilst home matches produced 1-0 defeats to Southampton and Spurs and a 3-0 loss to Chelsea.

Palace are in the top half of the table with 13 points from 8 matches and they went into the international break on the back of a 4-1 home win over Leeds. On their

travels this season Palace won at Manchester United (3-1), crashed at Chelsea (4-0), won at Fulham (2-1) and lost at Wolves (2-0).

Home advantage counted for nothing last season with Palace winning this fixture 2-0 whilst Burnley were 1-0 winners in London.

Burnley can't afford to lose this type of fixture but Palace have been one of the more unpredictable sides this season and it looks a tricky call. Of the 3 possible outcomes in the match result market the draw makes most appeal for a speculative play.

Bet: Match result draw at 21/10

Wolves 13/10, Draw 9/4, Southampton 23/10

Wolves have 13 points frm 8 matches. They were beaten 1-0 at Leicester last time out and now return to home turf where they have 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat. Manchester City won (3-1) here early in the season and since then Wolves have beaten Fulham (1-0) and Palace (2-0) either side of a 1-1 draw with Newcastle.

Southampton are 3 points better off than Wolves with an average return of 2 points per game. They have won 5 of their 8 matches, drawing 1 and losing 2. The defeats came at the start of the season and the unbeaten run since then makes the Saints the form team of the division. Away from home they have lost at Palace (1-0), won at Burnley (1-0) and Villa (4-3) and shared 6 goals with Chelsea.

This fixture was drawn 1-1 last season and Wolves won 3-2 at St. Mary's.

Wolves are generally tough to score against in home fixtures but there is plenty to like about Southampton right now and I fancy they will give another good account. Both teams to score? (yes) is the more confident of Monday night's selections.

Bet: Both teams to score? (yes) at 9/10
