Four English Premier League matches take place on Saturday 26th September and we take a look at the betting starting with Manchester United's visit to Brighton whilst Everton and Chelsea are also in action.
Let's begin with a look at Saturday's EPL coupon. Remember prices are subject to change.
The early kick off sees Brighton host Manchester United. Brighton started with a 3-1 home defeat to Chelsea but bounced back with a 3-0 win at Newcastle last
week. Although the Chelsea defeat suggests they have something to find to take anything from this game stand out results at home in 2019/20 included wins over
Arsenal and Spurs. Although Brighton lost this fixture 3-0 last season, they did beat United here in 2017/18 and 2018/19.
United's 3-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace in their only league game so far was far from the start they would have been looking for. Like Brighton they made progress in the Carabao Cup in midweek and they are currently 8/10 favourites to open their points account with a win here.
I can see goals and quite possibly for both sides. Over 2.5 in total is a better price than both teams to score and that is where I'm heading.
Next up Crystal Palace and Everton bring their respective 100% records into the clash at Selhurst Park. The bookies make Everton favourites at a shade of odds against and whilst if pushed for a pick I would side the visitors, those odds look a little skinny to me.
Chelsea were no match for Liverpool last week although they played a chunk of the game with 10 men and they are 2/5 to make amends away to West Brom. This is no tougher than their opening match away to Brighton, especially given West Brom have conceded 8 goals after defeats at home to Leicester (3-0) and away at Everton (5-2). To be fair to West Brom they were playing well at Goodison before they were also reduced to 10 men but the defence once again faces a huge task as Chelsea's big money new signings continue to bed into their new surroundings. It's 17/20 for West Brom to contribute to the scoring (btts) and 6/10 for 3 goals or more. I fancy the latter option although it's not in the odds range I look to for an interest.
Finally Burnley (11/5) host Southampton (13/10 ) at Turf Moor. Burnley's only league outing so far saw them short of regular starters in defence and it showed as they went down 4-2 away to Leicester. Southampton started their season with a 1-0 defeat at Palace and defensive collapse at home to Spurs last week saw them beaten 5-2. With those defensive records in mind I can see goals for both sides here.
Suggested Bets for Saturday:
Brighton v Man United over 2.5 goals at 17/20
Burnley v Southampton both teams to score at 17/20
